| I saw that on the Wyrd Forum; I've got some mixed feelings on the new Rat Guys. The new minis aren't bad at all basically; they certainly have a good(?) diseased, raggedy feel to them. HOWEVER, they look to be one part legs & torso, possibly head. That is a plus for ranking up units, but for creating uniquely positioned minis, swapping around pieces, & the general kit bashing that we Mordheimers love, it SUCKS big time. For those Guys with preexisting War Band & Armies, these don't look likre they match up very well. It's rather like what they did to the Skeletons & my Night Goblins. I shutter whenever GW announces a new & improved version of something when I loved the old & unimproved ones. | |

| Deaf, you can always just cut arms/legs off and put new ones on without them being separate pieces. | |

| I feel the same way Deaf. I'd say they are separate heads, arms and bodies, though, i don't think GW makes plastics with attached heads anymore unless they are for a started set, or spacehulk.
They really do not fit with the current range, they're more upright, but with an extreme hunch. I'd say they look more like beastmen.
I like both the old and new models, the new ones are less cartoony than the old and more as the artwork depicts, but the old have their own classic charm. I just can't see them mixing to well, unless you use the old night runners for most of the eshin, and new clanrats for your black Skaven, or some other sort of breeding uniqueness.
Makes me want to start a clan Pestelins or Moulder warband!
I can't wait to see what Underbheit does with them...

True. The mini can also be cut at the waist and turned for a different positioning; cutting off the head if it actually is attached might be more problematic. HOWEVER, I can't see where all that extra work is an improvement. There is also the matter of not matching up to current models. If you have an existing army, suddenly having core models that don't work with your existing ones is a major problem [there are a couple of other words that can be substituted for problem]. I guess I'll never be a Fan Boy...I think a lobotomy would be required for that. @Pathfinder:the Skinks & most of the Skull Pass stuff have attached heads. With the Skinks it's not necessarily a bad thing.

| I am truly and utterly bewildered by the comments that make these guys not matching up with the current skaven plastics a bad thing. The clan rats and Night Runners are easily some of the ugliest and most ill-fitting kits GW are currently selling. The current Skaven metals aren't far behind. Matching any new releases to this stuff would be a crime against all that is fair and good in this world. These new guys match the artwork excellently as far as I can see - long lanky limbs, hunched over and menacing poses. Can't see how it's a problem for anyone looking to complete their donald duck shaved monkey skaven armies with a few more core units either - the old boxes should plummet to dirt-cheapness shortly.. and in my opinion, the new sculpts seem to match the good old jes goodwin skaven style AND the plague monks, who're the latest plastic release for the army afaik, better than the current core plastics do? All in my most humble opinion of course. I'm pumped Skaven are getting new core plastics - didn't expect it, after they left the attrocious high & dark elf cores in the dirt to scramble as best they could with those godawful donald duck hands & feet all the way through another army book generation I'm ready to receive my lynching now, after admitting I hate half the models from the Mordheim box | |

- what is the wyrd forum?
Sorry, Amigo! Here's a link to the Skaven thread: http://wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?t=7280 . Wyrd Games make a range of very nice & different minis &, now, a new skirmish game, Malifaux. Their forum is a friendly not-so-little hangout where the focus is on all things mini or gaming. @FKSN: lynchings are against Forum rules; we've agreed to disagree in a friendly manner. EVERYONE has their own tastes or lack thereof in minis, terrain, rules, et al. I try to not defend my opinion TOO rigorously...I COULD be wrong .
