| So, this weekened past the kids asked me if they could paint some of my models. Awesome!!! I'd been waiting for this day. (my daughter had painted some years ago, but got tired of it - age 4 at the time) So, the three of us sat down at the kitchen table and went at it. The little guy came across my old box of board game minis (hero quest, battle masters, dragon quest, dungeon quest, all that jazz). They each picked out a handful of minis and went at it. What a fun time! I sat there painting my Elephantaur (I'm aware of how long I've been painting the same minis - thank you very much). The little guy is 4, my daughter is 8 and so you can imagine the paint jobs - God bless them. My son felt each mini he painted needed only a single colour, except for one lucky skeleton painted in yellow, blue, purple, and pink, while my daughter was a little more diverse - commenting even on the fact that my mini had more detail then any of theres. Of course, my reply was "well, when I was your age, I started on Hero Quest figures too". What a great time. Like I said, I've been waiting to do this for some time and it was a surprise when they came to me with the box of minis. Once done, they even asked if they could play a game of Hero Quest with them. How could I say no? The party of adventurers ended up being a rogue, a wizard, a wolf, a chaos warrior, and two skeletons, but hey- who am I to say who the real heroes are? Any of you folks out there painting with the kids / parents?

| hehe, trying to get my father to pick it up as he was into model railroads at the time, and tought me the modelling trade... but it seems I have surpassed his skills, and he refuses to join in the fun :S besides that, he has NO imagination when it comes to fantasy or games... so he just doesn't want to give it a try... now we're just waiting for my younger brother to move out (a year from now I guess) so we can pick up his railway together... looking forward to that... Other than that, I'm kinda trying to get the girl to give it a shot... but my hopes are not high yet... You're lucky to have kids who like it (even though in a monotone/duotone fashion! ) lets see what the future holds for your gaming family haha - I know a friend of mine who gets his ass kicked all the time by his 12 year old son... in both painting and gaming, so brace yourself for some hardships! | |

| Well...I didn't push the issue, but two of my three sons decided they wanted to give it a try, AND kept at it for a few years. My second son, Phil, actually became pretty good at it. EVEN my Ex, Old Crazy Linda, tried her hand. She proved to herself she could do it if she wanted to; then decided she didn't want to . However, all three of my boys [to the REST of the World, they're men now ] DID get into Fantasy RPGs, AND are now WoW addicts. | |

| I talked my girlfriend, my best friends and my sisters into giving painting a try. All did, and all decided it was not for them I guess they were past the right age to get sucked into it... But at least I tried. On the bright side, I managed to convert my 2 best friends to buy a Mordheim warband and they have since played consequently with/against me. _________________ | |

| I was 19 when my boyfriend asked me to paint his minis. He wanted to paint them too, but there were too many minis to paint and we had no painted warbands to play... I think he will never paint any mini more, because I do it since that moment and all proves that I will do it until the end of my life I hope that our children... IF WE WILL BE SO LUCKY TO HAVE THEM ... will be also interested in our hobby | |

| NOT BAD AT ALL! It's pretty easy to see the Kids had fun, which REALLY is what it's all about. I like the Psychodelic Skeleton & the Wizard. A few years down the road, it would be cool to see what they're doing with the craft. COOL STUFF! | |

| Thanks for the kind words, folks. I'll pass your thoughts/comments on to the kids - they'll be happy to hear it. @Paluke - it's a female rogue from Dragon Strike. A TSR board game fromwaaay back - a dumbed-down version of DnD actually. The wizard next to him also belongs to that game. Chaos Warrior, Skeleton w/ Scythe, and Wolf are from Hero Quest, while the skeleton on the far left is from Dungeon Quest (?) or something of that nature. Yeah, I'm going to keep this pic for certain and take more as the years go by (that is, hopefully, if they continue painting). | |
