orc shaman ideas?

hi all, im back after a years break or so.

I want to convert myself an orc shaman but i cant finde any nice models to base him on.

I would like something "cloaky" and wizard-ish, but im out of ideas and cant find any suiting models on GW's site (i usually look at 40K ork heroes)

Any ideas would be helpful!

EDIT: okay, what about the runtherder? do you think he'll fit? is the head attached to the body or seperated?

If you don't want to stick to GW only models, you could try this Orc Shaman by AoW. They fit GW's style perfectly (one of the main sculptors used to work for GW)




If you want to stick to GW there are also lots of options. The standard Orc Shaman is a fine example.




Then there's also the newer version, which I like a lot more tbh.



Then there is also the Ork Weirdboy from the Warhammer 40K range. This one might need a bit of work, but shouldn't be a problem for you I think - you also did a great job on Boss Snikrot IIRC.

I wanted to make my own almost from scrath so the GW ones from the WH range doesnt really work :/

I looked at the weirdboy too, but he seems reallllyyy.. weird for such a converting - i think it will be too hard :b

That Runtherd is metal. He has separate head, right arm and left hand.
I used him for my Shaman many moons ago with plastic Orc hands.

On the Shaman thingy: converting your own is relatively easy with all the cool plastic stuff G.W. has out. As an example that ANYONE can knock out a unique Shaman, this is my UberGoblin, counts as an Orc, Shaman:



Considering the source, not ALL that bad looking.

I'm glad you liked them. Feel free to take any ideas you like from my stuff...I borrowed some of them from quidam corvus & some of the other Guys. If you need any explanations on parts, techniques, or whatever, I'd be more than happy to supply them. The REALLY GREAT thing about T.B.M.F. is all the inspiring stuff that's floating around.

The is the old orc bully that used to go with a war machine crew, but he is a nice model and offers some decent conversion possibilities. He is in a similar pose to the runtherd.

I've already have thought of using him, since i have him already.. but i have made him into a normal orc with a sword. But he is hoody cloaky too! and that is gr8!

And his walking stick could be replaced with a staff, which should work well.

Orc Shamen by Reaper

I think the Savage Orc Standard Bearer could make for a decent shaman as well.

How about one of the Confrontation Miniatures orcs? I have this mystic warrior



The head comes as a separate piece so it can be replaced with a GW orc head. I'm using it as a base for a 40k ork weird boy.

I also have a Rackham Shaman (see pic). But I don't know if they are OOP...

I think they are OOP. Confrontation just seem to make pre-painted plastics now. But quite a few online stores still carry them.

They are out of production. He is nice. though. Captain B., I agree about that savage orc standard barer. I don't remember seeing him before. There certainly are a lot more good options for orc shaman than beastmen shaman.
