Hi,

What models have people been using for Youngbloods and Half-growns in the BTB Maneaters warband? The rules state that these are NOT large targets which implies that Youngbloods and Half-growns should be smaller than the other members of the warband. Have people been using normal GW ogres for Youngbloods and Half-growns or have you been using other models?

Thanks! Models for Maneaters Icon_smile

Werekin is currently assembling a Maneaters warband and I believe he uses old HeroQuest ogres or something, which are smaller than later ogres and fit perfectly. Or so I think that is...

If your using the Ogre Kingdoms models you can always just mount your youngbloods and half-growns on 25mm bases instead of 40mm, that's what my friend did with his ogre Bloodbowl team. Most of the legs for the Ogre Bulls should fit on the smaller bases, just double check before you start gluing any models together Smile

or if using all ogre kingdom models, you could use the bulls with the least hairy heads as the youngbloods, the regular looking bulls as halfgrowns, and use big chunky metal models for all the proper ogres.

What about modified orcs? They're big and bulky, much larger than a normal human, so they might work. I don't know for sure what head you would want to use, but the body seems about right.

Maybe normal ogre heads would work, just be a tad oversized (lending to their youthful appearance), or maybe dwarf heads would work since, despite the fact that dwarfs are so short, their heads are disproportionately large.

I think orc bodies with regular Ogre heads is a great idea.

I agree. I used Ogre heads with Orc(k) bodies for a Lost & the Damned unit...they work VERY WELL together. Models for Maneaters 842536

These guys!.

They appear on Ebay quite often and badly painted ones sell really cheap and can easily be stripped.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I like Myntokk and DeafNala's idea of using orc bodies with ogre heads. A friend had suggested using orcs but adding ogre heads is even better (so they look like ogres)! Models for Maneaters 544694

This is one reason I do not like the Maneaters warband. One of my goals when I designed my Ogre warband was to ensure that there would be models available for every Hero and Henchman.

Well, seems there are people here who enjoy the modelling/converting part of the hobby. thumbsup
