| I am about to start a maneaters warband for a new campaign. I have a few rules questions that I need to clear up before I start playing them. First of all, how does the slow witted rule work? Do I ultimately gain less skill ups because I skip every other level or do I gain the same amount of skill ups but gain exp at a half rate. Meaning the total exp per chr is capped on the roster sheet so do I gain it at half pace or just skip every other level up? Second, am I allowed to buy gnoblar fighters and halflings and eat them to effectively buy experience? I assume the answer would be yes to this since the slow witted rule is kind of harsh w/o this but I need to know so I can plan accordingly. Next, are the sabretusks considered animals that do not gain exp. I assume they are and don't get exp, but it does not say they dont get exp like in other warband lists. If they do get exp are they subject to slow witted? Lastly, The youngbloods and halfgrowns are not large and should be on the standard base size, correct? I was just wondering what size models would accurately represent a young blood and a half grown. IE which is bigger ect. Thanks in advance for the clarifications! Also any tips on playing a maneaters warband would be greatly appreciated as they seem kind of unique and will require a different strategy than previous warbands I have played. | |

| Hello and welcome to the forum! Slow Witted: Ogres gain XP at half rate. I suggest that, instead of a "X", you make a "/" on your roster for the first XP point in the field. Then, when you earn the second point you make a "\", thus creating a full "X" for a full experience point. So whenever you reach a "X" in a thick bordered field you get the usual advance. This way you won't miss any advances but you reach them slower than other models. Eating Gnoblars/Halflings: Sure. Bon appetit! Sabretusks: Yieks! An oversight! Sabretusks should have the "Animal: Don't gain XP" special rule. This will be included in the next errata. Base sizes: Yep. 25mm bases. Check out this thread. By the way, Werekin uses old Warhammer Quest Ogres to represent the smallish Ogres. They fit nicely as they are a bit smaller than more recent versions from GW. | |

| Thanks for the reply! I have one last question I thought of. I did some research on the forum but the thread adressing this issue seemed inconclusive. I am wondering how to account for warband rating for ogres. Since all but the youngbloods and half growns are considered large creatures does this mean that they are each going to provide 20 instead of 5 plus their exp level? Thanks again for all your help resolving these questions. | |

| Yes, they do. Just like Rat Ogres, Trolls or Minotaurs they all add +20 to the rating. | |

| I making a ogre warbang a the moment, might post some pictures in the near future , but was thinging about the rating a well. Im not really sure what you mean with the answer. Who in the maneater warbang gives what in rating. "Real" ogre, (leader, hunter and bulls henchmen), is 20 rating, i thing, but what about: youngbloods and half-growns ? is it also 20 xp - and what about sabertusk ? -Skavenslayer | |

This is rather simple actually: Every model that has the "Large" special rule adds +20, all other models are treated as normal models. Youngbloods and Half growns are ogres but as the rules state they are not large and thus they don't add +20. Sabretusks, who are neither Ogres nor large anyways, of course don't add +20. | |

| Ok thx for the clarifation, i was thinking somthing like that, but was unsure. If it was every member it would be to much, but a total of 4 large members (leader, hunter and 2 henchmen), it not so bad. -skavenslayer | |
