| Update on my Kislevite Warband; I have now painted some minis! I know that I can't help myself if I polish some of them up, adding some highlights or whatever. [img] [/img] Here you can see one of my spearmen (the other one lacks some paint finishing), and one of my Streltsi (same with his buddy) [img] [/img] Here follows my archers and crossbow men. Notice how you can save messed up green stuff (I was supposed to give the crossbow guy a mustache) and turn it into a freakish wound/mutation! ^_^ Nice save huh? [img] [/img] My cossack pair. Note the added sword sheet on the charging one since the first pictures. The guarding cossack needs some facial job, I know. [img] [/img] Youngbloods. I gave them brownish coats to stand out slightly from the rest of the grays. [img] [/img] Finally my darling the Captain. I have added a bear coat hanging over his back since you last saw him! I'm quite happy with the painting, might need some polish though. Hope you enjoyed them! Popmouth | |

| I really like the drawing of the sword, and the motion that you have many of these guys in. And great job on the hats and pelts, esp. that captain. | |

| A short history of the Streltsy They were frist formed by Tsar Ivan the 4th as a force for ranged combat and were Russia's frist standing infantry. The were payed in money, a plot of land and a allotment of food and drink. The Tsar also had a grupe of elite mounted Streltsy bodyguards and the only way you could be one was if your father passed his bodyguard dutys down to you. The had large Two-handed axes that had a point that the Streltsy could dig in to the ground and use as a point to aim his large and oftan unwieldley gun. They has a sword for use as a bask up. The word Strelsty dose indeed mean shooter Hey look at that I'm a handy modeler and a history buff I do wish they had made Oprichnik hero rather that a bare tamer but oh well. You can look up the Oprichnik;s bloody history on Wikki | |

| VERY COOL STUFF! You did a GREAT job capuring the character of the War Band & breathing a sense of drama & motion into them all. I would probably have gone with a dark green & red combo for the uniforms, but your choice looks good. VERY WELL DONE! Oh...have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! | |

| I don't have much to offer for criticism. They look wonderful. I think my favorites are the youth lunging forward with the sword, and the leader; such a bad ass! | |

| Thanks a lot, I put a lot of effort in the leader, and I'm actually happy with the result. It's quite satisfying when you start to get the hang of that nifty green stuff. Has anyone an idea for a nice bear tamer model? I was thinking of giving the model a spear (more of a bear hunter perhaps?), I've had a think of a robust woman, or a heavy bearded zangeif-inspired man. | |

| I just got hold of the Barbarian Warlord from Eolith/Spyglass ( here) and think you could make a great bear tamer from it. The axe hand is separate so you could give him a spear, and the head can be replaced with a bearded plastic head from the Marauder horsemen or something similar. | |

| His a bit to high fantasy for my taste, but thanks anyway... Don't really want the typical barbarian look – rather have him heavy built than super-muscular, if you know what I mean? | |

| Thanks a million. That was exactly my intention. I think the little tassel on the spear kind of improves the feeling of a thrusting move. | |
