| So Asp, what is it that you don't approve of concerning Tom's and my moderation here? Feel free to PM me.
That aside, while I do agree with your good intentions, I also see how your post reads as "why are you still wasting your time here, when TBMF is much better". Maybe that was not what you intended to express but that is how it does come across. And I understand how DaBank doesn't want that on the SG Forum. The SG Forum contains the official Mordheim forum and that cannot be replaced by anything. Unless you are already signed up somewhere, then that's where I would go with my rules questions etc. The focus of this forum has always been - and will always be - the hobby aspect of Mordheim, ie. painting and converting warbands and creating scenery. It was never much about rules discussions, experimental stuff, etc. Like Styro and Master, if you want to discuss home-brewed rules, the SG is the place to go. There are different intentions and purposes for these forums and all have their own right to exist. | |

Well off the top of my head it was the closing of the Devil's Den threads which I never saw a good, rational, reason for. And there has been some "lifted fingers" in my direction when I pointed out imbalances in vanilla in the past. But of course all of thius is some time ago. I very much appreciate your last many moderating descisions. --- Other than that: - Quote :

I am not talking about replacing anything. Here is my reply to Bank: - Quote :
- A second point raised by Da Bank is: "Please do not detract from this forum." the obvious answer is, how could I?
What Da Bank is advocating is essentially a 17th century view of supply known as Mercantilism, which states that the resources of the world are limited. If the resources of the world correspond to a cake, then the cake is finite, and everybody is locked in a competition for as big a slice as possible.
However, this view of the world has long since been abandoned and replaced by the view known as Comarative Advantage ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparative_advantage ), which states that the resources of the world can grow through cooperation. If the resources of the world correspond to a cake, then the size of the cake (and hence everyone's slice) can grow if we cooperate.
The point I am making here is that I simply cannot detract from this forum unless Tom's Forum is superior to it in every way, which it clearly is not as evidenced, amongst other things, by the discussion on Warseer.
----------
The Bank repeats to me that "This is not a competition." but where have I ever said it was? I wanted to know why people preferred other boards to Tom's Forum. I view people as mature individuals capable of making their own decisions. If they knowingly are here and not there I assume that they have good reasons, reasons I'd like to know. ---------- So of course, as you say, "every forum has a right to exist" - My view is not that of a static "competition", but rather that of Say's Law: That supply creates demand. - Counter-intuitive, but true. The point here being, that the more people that actively engage each other in a forum, the more Mordheim forums can be suitained in total and the best way to make as many people as possilbe engage with each other is to have them on the same forums. (which does not rule out them being on other forums as well.) ---------- Welcome, Artinam | |

| Yes, I remember those 'lifted finger moments'. They mostly had to do with you telling newly joined members, even people new to the game, how broken it is and that they should at best play your version instead. Not?
I did read your reply before it was moved. As I said, I agree with your intentions, but you will have to accept that your post can be interpreted differently. | |

| I think the story went along the lines, that there was one first, but got locked, after some discussion, it was unlocked or another one was opened, and this did not went well, so the whole issue died on it's own after some time. But as this is long time past, I don't think it's really important anymore | |

| @Asp...your post was worded in such a way that it can be understood as a "put down" of the SG forum. That is pretty much it. @Joker...I sent you a PM but it is technical as they blocked a whole range of IP addresses (I was affected also). | |
