| This event has been temporarily cancelled. We will keep you updated on when we plan to meet up...
Click this link for directions!Store opens at 12 Noon, and we plan to play for a few hours. We may turn this into a weekly (or every other week) event!Post here if you would like to join us for the fun! (Also post the what Warband you will be using!)Rules: (Subject to change) - NEW Warbands - Warband roster must be made available for everyone to view - Strict 500gc Start (No 1gc leniancy) - Official & Unofficial Warbands Only (No player-made or unlisted) - Have FUN! (Rules lawyering not allowed! ) - Models must be PAINTED, Based, and GW-models (This is an official Games Workshop rule, and since we're in their store, we must comply) - WYSIWYG will NOT be strictly enforced.... but your opponent must be told ahead of time if a model is using something that is not immediately obvious when looking at the model. (You still will not be able to play with an ogre model as a skaven for example.. but if your skaven has an obvious spear, but you want to play with it as a halberd or double handed weapon - that is fine!) - Advanced Critical Hit Charts will be used. (Located in the back of the rulebook) - Possessed may use Rewards of the Shadowlord (Back of the rulebook) - All advance rolls, serious injuries, rare item hunting, and income/exploration rolls will be made as a group, with everyone watching. - Starting spells, and all new spell rolls will be rolled for as a group. You may never pick which spells you start with, or gain, unless specifically noted in the rules. Special 'House' Rules: (Subject to change) - Double Handed Weapons may use the special rule of their single handed counterparts. For example, Double Handed Maces add +2 strength, strike last, and have the concussion special rule. Double Handed Axes add +2 strength, strike last, and have an additional -1 save modifier. Double Handed Swords may parry. (This rule does not effect Flails, Halberds, or Spears) - Henchmen that dual wield (Multiple weapons), will suffer -1 to their STR with their off-hand attacks. Note that this does not effect heroes. This does not effect 'Pistol' or ranged weapons of any kind, even in hand to hand combat. This does not effect Mutation (Extra Arm) attacks, Saurus 'Bite' attacks, Skaven tail-fighting attacks, or any other "Bonus" attack. Animals, Rat Ogres, Zombies, and any other units that do not use weapons will obviously never be effected by this rule. - Henchmen may not critically hit with off-hand attacks when dual weilding. - Shields confer a 5+ save in hand-to-hand combat. (Still 6+ against shooting) - 'Lucky Charm' / 'Lucky Rabbits Foot' may not be used to reroll a die from your Rout Test. - Mounts may be used for warbands that allow them. (Free Lancers with mounts permitted) Participants:Dulu - Sisters of Sigmar - Quote :

What part? I show up to that several times a year. Tewfik and I might be interested in playing in this... I'll talk to him and check my schedule. I would be possessed. I'll have to see about getting more guys painted up too as I would have a very small warband. :-/ Oh, and I assume you are NOT using the rules from the dual wielding thread? Oh, and I assume you are NOT using the rules from the dual wielding thread? (-1 to hit or str with offhand, +2AS in CC with shields) The 'house rules' will be made up as we get more people to play. I want to get a feel for what everyone wants... These are pretty much just the easy basic ones that we can all agree on. I personally wouldnt mind seeing armor buffed and off-hand attacks nerfed, but we will wait and see what the consensus is! And yeah, I hope you and your friend play! That would be great! I remember you guys from my first post on this forum

And yeah, I hope you and your friend play! That would be great! I remember you guys from my first post on this forum Well, I'm a big fan of -1Str to Offhand and +2AS for shields. I'm in the process now of compiling a comprehensive rulebook with our house rules (pretty much just those 2 rules right now) and all the optinoal rules that we're using for our campaigns at home. I can let everyone look at that when I'm done and see what people can agree on. Oh, I'm assuming that since this is at a GW store that GW models are required? I think I'm only using GW stuff right now, but my future Pirates warband will not be any GW stuff.

Man I wish GW stores down here would actually let you play the Specialist Games stuff in-store, we're not allowed since they're not core systems, you can work on mordheim/necromunda/BB/BFG/epic, warmaster etc. but you can't play it, just 40k, fantasy or LoTR >.<

It has dozens of tables... you can play pretty much whatever you want. They have tons of tables and scenery in the back, all you have to do is ask them and they will pull out what you want. For one of the BFG Rogue Trader tournaments a couple years ago, they even had half a dozen space boards and planets/star scenery. It was very cool.

| I dont work weekends so I should be able to make it.
I would be playing Skaven most likely since Lizardmen are not Official.
As far as I know they are not as strict as they used to be as far as the painting goes, it used to be that they had to be fully painted... then they dropped that back to 3 minimum colors... and I think when I was there a few weeks back I saw a few games going and 1/2 of the models weren't more than primed... I could be wrong...
Either way most of my band is painted so im good to go.
What time did you plan to start?? Noonish when the store opens??

I'd actually be interested in playing against Lizardmen. As for time: Store opens at noon, so I'd hope to get the games started by 12:30 or 1. (We would probably have to help setup the tables... hopefully we can get 2 tables, and run 2 games at the same time) Also, can you guys post the Warband roster (Or copy and paste if its already somewhere on these forums) you plan to use? I'll update one of the above posts with mine.

But yes, since its a GW store, GW models are required. Unless you're sneaky. After sitting and reading through the entire thread on the subject, this is what I like for the dual weild issue... Dexterity: Henchmen with WS 3 or less suffer a -1 to hit penalty with their offhand attack when fighting in close combat. Heroes never suffer this penalty, as they are considered well rounded veterans of combat. This penalizes the people who max out of clubs/daggers with their henchmen (*Cough* Skaven) but leaves the heroes alone. I'd also be open to switching -1 to hit, to -1 strength, but I think the outcome of the stats is identical for these purposes. I have no problem giving shields a 5+ armor save in close-combat as well. (Possibly Light Armor a 5+ armor save in shooting and hand to hand, and Heavy Armor a 4+) What are your thoughts on this?

| If I play Skaven ill most likely use that band, ive only played with Lizardmen a handful of times and havnt fully gotten the tactics for them down yet... [edit] I may remove 5 clubs from that Verminkin pack to pick up a meat shield aka giant rat.
But depending who shows up and playing what ill decide what to play with...

But depending who shows up and playing what ill decide what to play with... Ok, very cool! I'll mark you down for Skaven in the meantime. John and me have not played in years, and we're quite rusty... we're both fairly obsessive though, and have been going over the rulebook and reading stuff online extensively, so if you wanted to get some practice with the Lizzies against amateurs, we would be your perfect opponents!

| Since you said you've never played against them, maybe ill try to toss a band together... but depending on their strictness of paint... I wouldnt be able to field the Lizzie's I just started putting the warband together and a few of my warriors dont even have arms yet...
Maybe at the least after our main set of games wind down we could play a few test rounds with some Lizardmen.

But Ive played all of those, and im ready for new ones to be honest, so if we find some that look interesting that every can agree on im game! Ok great. I'll look some up, and possibly make a few. Let me know if you come across any good ones. Quick rule question for you guys, how do you feel about a rule that would make Double Handed weapons a little more viable? I think allowing Double Handed weapons to have their weapon-types special ability would be fair.. For example: Double Handed Axes would be +2 Strength and an additional -1 Armor Save, and Double Handed Maces would have concussion. (My train of thought is that buffing a weak aspect, is better than nerfing a strong one when it comes to balance... so by making DH weapons more attractive, it cuts back on the appeal of dual weilding) Thoughts?
