Matt's Mad Maneater

hey,

I'm starting an arabian Maneater warband using the BTB rules. I just sculpted my chieftain, and I'd like some comments

tell me what you think of my chieftain, Achmed Gutpuncher.

Cool stuff!

However, I think you need to tidy up the surface a little (perhaps with colour shapers ), as there are some unnatural dents from the sculpting tool on his skin.

A very characterful conversion! I like it!

I was going to point out the very same thing. Using colour shapers (and maybe a bit of vaseline) helps a lot.

I'm going to fix that. In my defence, it's way worse on the pics then in real life. not that that's an excuse, though.

Yeah, it's just a minor thing, but it will make you unhappy when you eventually start painting them I'm looking forward to seeing him in colour.

no it isn't

Yeah, that'd be what I want to point out as well... smooth the surfaces out a bit... take your time stuffing these guys.. as the stuff will set a bit better when you take it easy, and use multiple layers. - the general shape is real cool though!

- side note.. is he THAT thirsty?

oh yes, ofcourse, how could I forget. well, he wasn't glued that proper to his base yet. so in the middle of his photo shoot he started to fall over. (actually he's touching the glass in 3 pics )

this isn't a man eater, but a hunter for Eliazar's warband. Eliazar wanted a custom made miniature, and I offered to make it (free of charge, that is). I hope you guys (and especially Eliazar) like this arabian Hunter.

is his shield magnetised? and what is that speartip from? that looks cool!!

Again though... try to make your surfaces look a little smoother... there's a lot of rough bits in them, random bumps and lumps of stuff... I know you can do better then that, so just take your time (which probably means ditching half of your projects, but hey, it's the quality that counts isnt it?!

Admire your dedication though, since the weather should really send you off to the beach at the moment! - would do you good not to look like such a pale gamer hahaha

surfaces look better irl. shield is magnetised. as soon as you'll be nicer I'll tell you where the spear is from. and the beach is way to crowded, I like to sculpt in my garden (yes, I have one ), I get enough sun, it's nice and warm, and I can perform my hobby, what's wrong with that.

and ohyeah, the water is way to cold for me at the moment

Spear tip may be a modified plastic skeleton sword? Guess work by me really.

NICE WORK, Amigo! The wicker shield is a nice touch; the Goblin you stole it from wants it back . Keep up the GOOD WORK!

I like it, too! The shield was really an awesome idea and inspired me to order my first magnets yesterday

The spear tip is from a skeleton spear, by the way (I think VC).

Matt: yeah, I actually almost finished my whole warband I'm at Mathieu's now, together with Sascha, and we are working hard on our warbands, haha
