so.. one question. i noticed in the rules that Johann the Knife is addicted to Crimson Shade. In the rules for Crimson Shade, it says that if you dont give an addicted character Crimson Shade, they will leave your warband. does this mean that you must give him Crimson Shade every round that you want to keep him? or does he use his upkeep to buy it?

Hi! Welcome to the forum!
I remember reading that the upkeep also pays his drugs. Did I make that up? Is it in the rules?
Irrespective of whether it is explicitly in the rules or not, there is this one rule: You cannot equip Hired Swords and Dramatis Personae. This means you couldn't give him the drugs even if he wanted you wanted too.
So don't worry about his addiciton. He can handle that himself.. (that's probably what he would tell you if you asked him )
