| So, it's come to this. After a couple of years painting and gaming, I finally put some pics on the web of my warbands. A word of warning, I aim at table top quality, and if I occasionally get better results it wasn't on purpose. Also, I lack photo skills, which means that these pics do not really show what the models look like in reality (for bad and good respectively). That said, I hope you'll get some enjoyment out of this thread. Should you want closeups of any model for some strange reason, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

| If you want better photos, place a piece of paper up against the wall, making a J-shape, and take the pictures there with good, natural light. I do all my photography on the ledge of a sun-facing window. Your models are nicely done, and I mean, they've got pupils and everything, thats more than most Humans I've painted ever got | |

| This is my take on the Sorcerous Society warband to be found in LOTD #4. I've played with them alot, and I think they're quite a treat. The models are mostly Reaper minis, but some GW-stuff, and a couple from Rackham has found their way into the gang. Group shot: Mages with familiars: Companions: Close combat grunts: Allround grunts: Ballistic grunts: Untrained: | |

| Nice minis. And a great backdrop. This reminds me that I still have a full unpainted Sisters warband laying around here somewhere... | |

| These minis are almost mine, kind of a permanent loan from a friend of a friend. As soon as I saw them I wanted to make a Brewers guild warband. The rules are from the Karak Azgal-setting, but they fit nicely in others as well. Master brewer (yes. it's Joseph Bugman himself!) and brewery engineer: Two apprentices and a warrior/miner in the middle: Three quarrelers and a kegman:

| A warband in the Lustrian setting, with lots of powerful ranged attacks. Again GW and Reaper minis, with an occasional Rackham element. Heroes (from left to right captain, champion, youngbloodx2, champion): Marksmen/women: Duellists: | |

| VERY COOL STUFF! That IS quite a nice collection. The Brewer's Guild fits nicely with my image of Dwarves as hard drinking, grumpy psychopaths. You have a good feel for color AND it's reflected in your colorful but not garish War Bands. I REALLY like the mix of different mini makers works. They all fit together WONDERFULLY. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Good stuff! The Beat-Hunter's brown ink is a bit overdone, but the WH more than makes up for it! Really good blond-hair. | |

Well, it's not easy being unmodest (is that even a word?) when you see the quality of the work some others do. Besides, in my gaming group, I'm definitely the least developed painter. - Quote :

Well, painting hair is one thing I find almost easy. The blonde hair on the Witch hunter is done with (on a basecoat of black gesso) bubonic brown and some highlights of bleached bone. They go well together.

| No matter how good you get, there will ALWAYS be someone who is better. Ultimately the only one's work that should challenge you is your own: pushing yourself to do that extra little bit yields surprising results. AND your work is FAR SUPERIOR to the war gaming norm. Keep up the GOOD WORK, Amigo! | |

I got to agree with deafnala! (how can someone NOT agree with him ) Your work is way more advanced than just "tabletop" quality, I enjoyed watching all the mini's you posted here! And the bottom line is, You have to like your mini's yourself, you're the one who has to see them all them time & uses them in your battles!

| Hey Folkets!
Wow, thanks for all the high quality pics! I think you did a great job with those minis and it is rare to find a player with so many painted warbands.
Thanks for uploading! _________________

Well, I just can't help myself. When I discovered first how fun it is to play Mordheim, and then Warhammer Fantasy, and to top it off came to like the painting as well, I kind of went a little crazy. Besides those minis posted, I've painted a Norse marauders warband for a friend, and for WHFB/40K I've got: 6000+ pts Lizardmen 2500+ pts Dwarves 3000+ pts Orcs & Goblins 2500+ pts Chaos Warriors 1000+ pts Chaos Demons 2500+ pts Witch Hunters 2000+ pts Space Orcs ...all collected (but not all of it painted) in about two years.

| If you'd care to show off your WHFB & 40K WORKS OF WONDER, you could post them in the Shout It Out Fantasy & SciFi Sections respectively. Of course, if you're not so inclined, we'd understand...kind of.

Of course, if you're not so inclined, we'd understand...kind of. Well... that would take some time. Next time I play either game I'll try to take some pics. That would be cool; ALL contributions ARE gratefully accepted AND enthusiastically enjoyed.

| Hey, I don't know if I've seen that dwarf warband finished. They're cool. You're not the least accomplished painter in the gaming group, one of us have only painted one mini. Don't just compare yourself with those who've painted longer than you, compare yourself with the less experienced painters as well. | |
