| I recently built a little piece of wood to serve 3 purposes: 1) I wanted to test a way to quickly build something that looks like a half-way convinving piece of woodland. 2) If point 1) is a success, then more woods will follow to fill my gaming table. I am planning on re-doing my 8 year old WHFB table to look like a decent rural setting for BTB and EiF games. 3) Wood elves are allowed to place an extra 6'" wood according to their Warhammer 7th Army Book. This wood should do the trick I guess. For those of you interested, please check out TBMB for more pics! Thanks! _________________ | |

| VERY NICE, Oh Fearless Leader. That's an attractive bit of late Autumn woodland scenery. I LOVE the roots in the embankment. My short cut to the P.O. passes through a lovely little woods which your terrain piece reminds me of, although without the discarded Budwieser cans [ the TRUE sign of civilization ]. It looks to be very games worthy, particulary for a skirmish style game. Ranked units are always a problem with woodlands. WELL DONE, Amigo! | |

| Awesome work as usual, Tom! An entire table filled with this would be awesome! Keep it up. | |

Keep it up. hehe, that WOOD be awesome indeed! but yeah, Like stated above... very awesome stuff! I don't really see how this is a quick way of half decent woodland? it's great... I agree with Nala, the roots really make it a brilliant piece... though I would (WOOD) like to see some foliage on em... even though just a little bit of litter...

| Thanks for the comments guys! @ Ezekiel: I held back a little on the foliage, because I am not entirely sure how the table itself will turn out (i.e. I haven't decided on the grass/earth ratio yet) and I want the little piece of wood to match the "background" it will be standing on. This way I can always add some more green scatter later. The opposite is not possible. @ Zulu: The leaves are from Atenociti's.#You will find it listed as "Leaf Litter". I think it is noting more than flower buds from a certain tree (my guess is walnut tree). _________________ | |

If I remember correctly, it's seeds from birch trees. Someone even started a thread about that somewhere on the forum. Unfortunately, I did not yet locate some seeds to have a look myself

| Here's a little follow-up that I thought might be nice. I recently completed this project (10 Glade Guards + 1 Lord) for a very nice fellow who needed some "Nighttime ambush" themed Wood Elves. I always try to keep people who order stuff from me as up to date on the project as I can, by sending them pics (ir)regularily and so I snapped a few pics of his Wood Elves standing in my scenery. I think the pics turned out really well, and they also show the 2 new wood sections I made. I just thought I'd share some moody pics with you guys (and you know I cannot resist posting Wood Elfy stuff, as much as Cianty will hate me for that ) Hope you like them! _________________ | |

| A VERY nice atmospheric late Autumn effect. The Forest & the Sylvian Elves are BEAUTIFULLY done. VERY WELL DONE! There, I got through the ENTIRE post without a single derogatory comment about those pointy eared, tree hugging, zenophobic deviants...almost. | |

| Urgh, more hippie elves... Nah, seriously, incredible paint job! Excellent photos, excellent scenery and excellent miniatures (the paint - not the figures). | |

| Absolutely fantastic! I think the pics you posted speak volumes even in their silence, I bow in awe... EDIT: just 2 questions: 1) Are those trees from woodland scenics (tree armatures) and if yes what size are they? 2) Are those bow elves WHFB or LotR models? Congratulations again!!! | |

| Thanks Matumaros! - Matumaros wrote:
1) Are those trees from woodland scenics (tree armatures) and if yes what size are they? Yes they are! I think they are roughly between 10 and 20cm tall (there are 3 sizes in each pack). I bought them because I thought they were just tall enough to be believable trees when a miniature stands next to them, and small enough so that they are not too cumbersome for storage. The cool thing is, you don't need any magnets, since you they come with a pin/hole system, that allows you to easily add and remove trees as required, so that models can stand in the woods. - Matumaros wrote:
