Hi everyone! Yesterday – while waiting for BTB and a journey into the Northern Wastelands / the Cathayan Borderlands – my Marauders of Chaos took a “short trip” to Mordheim to take part in a massive 6 player battle. The photos are not the best. The lighting was horrible and my camera could not make up for it. But I wanted to share the few decent ones anway .
The scenario was called “Hunt for the Messenger”. 5 Warbands tried to intercept a messenger (a souped-up vampire with a 4+ save, dodge and 3 wounds) carrying a treasure map. The Vampire (played by a visiting friend from Frankfurt who is not playing in our campaign and was therefore hopefully impartial) had 5 small groups of 2-3 undead scattered across the board to help him cross the board lengthwise.
The Undead Player used his groups of Skeletons, Dire Wolves, Zombies and Ghouls to delay the warbands. He positioned them skilfully in small alleys to block all the warbands and to prevent them from marching while the Vampire raced across the board.
The Reikländers played a waiting game and amused themselves by shooting across the river at everyone in range (The Undead, Orks and Druchii at that time. He sure was making a lot of enemies )
The Marauders and the Druchii were still fighting on the other side of the river. My Marauders routed pretty soon after that but the Druchii could not reach the Vampire in time. The battle on the bridge ended with the Vampire victorious. http://s10b.directupload.net/file/d/1657/ruf7se8k_jpg.htm He carried the map from the board and left 5 bedraggled warbands behind.
In retrospective I made the vampire to strong for our starting warbands to stop unless someone managed to surround him. Skillfull play on the undead side prevented that and our visitor well deserved his victory.

Cool pics, Horatius! It's interestening to see Wolfgang's amazing Mordheim in action and the shots are nice.
I especially like the one where you have the bridge full of mercenaries in the first pic and only a few left in the second when the vampire arrived
Oh, and what model is the Dark Elf shown in the last pic of the delaying action section?

Eliazar, that is a dark elf shade. In the picture it stands on the roof to prepare for a diving charge...but he fell on his face .

FINE looking minis playing an EXCITING game across BEAUTIFUL terrain = TRUE HAPPINESS for this Old Man! My only crtique would be that I had a deluge of Pop-Ups while trying to see all the WORKS of WONDER [C'est la vie ]. COOL experience nonetheless.
