PostSubject: Rarest Mordheim Model   Rarest Mordheim Model Icon_minitimeSat 3 Apr 2010 - 1:48

So I was just wondering what everyone thought the rarest model in Mordheim was? I have been trolling ebay for Kislevites and Averlanders for about two years now, and they seem to go for obscenely high prices. But, at least those models are available for a certain price every now and then. I have also seen several others on this forum comment about how hard it can be to find certain models, such as Bertha from the Sisters of Sigmar, the female Middenheim youngblood (who I don't really think is that rare), the Witch Hired Sword and the Arabian Merchant Hired Sword.

But I suppose if I were to pick the rarest Mordheim model, I would have to go with the evil Warlock hired sword from Town Cryer 25. I have never seen this model anywhere, not on Tom's, not cool mini or not, not on ebay, or anywhere else.

Any thoughts?

Edit- Those Sisters of Sigmar recasts seem pretty damn rare too!

Was this the extra box of differently posed novices/sisters that was released at some point? I saw some on ebay once but wasn't quite sure how authentic they were...

Yea, I didn't know the Sisters were recast until years after they were already unavailable. I don't know why they were recast either, as it seems to me the original line was quite decent as it is. The new sisters were released in TC 20.

The original Sisters Augur and Bertha both go for very high prices on ebay, but at least both are on ebay, unlike the alternative Warlock model, the witch and the Arabian Merchant. There should be plenty of Berthas and Augurs out there, since they were one of the original releases and were available for years.

One of the unreleased models? There were a few. I've never seen the legless jester available for sale on Ebay or anywhere else come to that.

The Mordheim Witch seems to be a fairly rare mini also. Every time I think of the one I sold all painted up for a song I could kick myself...fortunately at my age I not flexible enough to actually accomplish this. Rarest Mordheim Model Suspect

There is, however, a not-so little shop in distant Beaumont, TX by the name of Book Stan II that still has quite a lot of Mordheim goodies in stock. Through subliminal suggestion, I'm working on friend John for a trek to this Source of Happiness; they also have Necromunda, GorkMorka, AND WHFB minis including Army Boxed sets that go all the way back to 3rd edition.

Hmmm... I didn't even know that model existed. Are there any other unreleased Mordheim models? Those would certainly count as rare

Ha, I've seen the others before, but not the jester or the human mercenary (looks kind of like one of the Reiklanders anyway)

The third Undead Warband Dregg model is pretty rare too, right? The one with club and collar. I have only EVER seen it in a pic in the rulebook, but I understand it IS a model made for Mordheim... right?

According to the 1998 catalogue, 'Luthor' was made for the Warhammer Quest Catacombs of Terror expansion set.

I believe Citizen Sade is correct, that model is for Warhammer Quest. I've been hunting for him for a fair bit of time too. Warhammer quest models routinely go for extreme prices on ebay. The only one I have managed to pick up for chump change is the pit fighter. I've been looking for the imperial noble, bretonnian questing knight, warrior priest, witch hunter, and elf ranger for quite some time, and they always seem to go for over $30 american individually.

Thanks for clearing that up, then Smile
I have no knowledge whatsoever of Warhammer Quest, so I am not going to say anything about it, but I have a very old catalouge compilation from the ranges of GW and Marauder miniatures, where some old models really stand out! I have been meaning to get my hands on some of those old minis but cant seem to find them within the limits of my reach (i do not buy on ebay or any such site, only official retail sites within sweden... im a bit too cautious about such things...)

I should have thought of it Smile thanks.

I have quite a few Amazon models, all one piece with only the champion with detachable arms. I bought them a while back probably 10 years ago from Spain GW mail order. Never seen them again. They where sold for Mordheim on their online catalog. Are these Mordheim models? If so are they rare?

From the CCM Yahoo Group:
Simon wrote:
I think they were initially Dogs of War regiment for Warhammer which had a limited release in Europe (as stated on SoL). They are the same sculpts as the Bloodbowl team (which I think came first) with added weapons. They then became an official Lustria Warband for Mordheim in Town Cryer 15 and joined the catalogue for a while before being replaced by the current models.

They are reasonably rare, I'd say.

Ok then I need to dig them out Smile I bought several blisters of them at the time. About 80/90 models all together Smile I was planning on a alternative lizard army made of amazons and pygmies, then had to give up ....

I believe you are talking about Marianna Chevaux (Specialist games\Mordheim\Dramatis Personae) otherways, I had no idea there was a female vampire model.

Indeed. That would be Town Cryer 22 (source)

Letting people know on this forum when certain rare Mordheim models happen to come available is really a great idea!!! I helped another forumite purchase some really rare GW adventurers in this thread and I found it was quite rewarding to help someone here out. I am a pretty consistent ebay hunter, it's definitely something I'll make an effort to do more of!

I'm really glad this thread got so many replies.

Edit - This guy has a several OOP models for sale at the moment, including casualties

Here is the waaay rare Arabian Merchant up for grabs on ebay. Click Here

I have already been outbid, but I hope someone on this forum wins. I can't decide how much I would pay for an Arabian Merchant.

Edit- $51.01. Sigh.
