Wyrdmake's Mordheim Manufactorum

Howdy!

I used to peruse these hallowed halls many moons ago, and finally, years later, I am in a position to start working towards my Mordheim dreams. I've started working on a simple house, the first thing I have ever built from scratch:

I started, strangely, with the roof:



I then added a base structure when I decided where I wanted to go with it:



Then, I decided to add a chimney, to eliminate the "birdhouse" look:



And this is where it ended up after about two hours of work tonight:





I am going to pick up some balsa wood and various other gubbins at the dollar store tomorrow so I can add timber details, doors, and windows. Then paint! Let me know what you think, any suggestions are appreciated! LOTS more to come!

Thank you! The chimney is my kids' favorite as well. I am most proud of that bit I think.

I have progressed since my last post, I had to get some supplies.

I started out by building a door, ( I think I will add detail before the final paint stage):



Then, I added a window:



All the timber was added, and this is where I ended up:





After the glue dried, I added a bit of a base and a step, then I painted everything with a mix of matte Mod Podge and black paint to seal it:





It's still drying, but I am already very pleased with how it has turned out so far. I can't wait for it to dry so I can start painting and detailing, though I am tempted to leave it this way .

Mostly acrylics and oils, no drybrushing. Tried to keep it dark. It ain't much but it's mine.

That turned out SPLENDIDLY. It is a FINE start to what should be a beautiful gaming board. I am also a fan of the chimney. VERY NICELY DONE!

Nice work! Especially for a first time scratch-building. I think you can be proud of that.

Now to do the other dozen to fill out the board...

Lots of work to go, windows, doors, roofs. Apparently I am severely lacking in the fantasy model department, so a Van Saar ganger is doing a stand in for scale comparison.

Your latest creation has an abundance of potential. I love the tower. Enjoy the process of completing it!

Great looking house, and great-looking chimney! As mentioned, the effort is even more impressive for a first try!

Loving this second build as well, the layout of the building is very interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing progress!
