PostSubject: Spell of Awakening on Unusual Heroes   Wed 13 Jul 2016 - 12:21

The Necromancy spell, "Spell of Awakening" is a bit kooky. When an enemy hero dies, you may turn it into a Zombie Henchman that may retain its weapons/armor, though you forfeit the ability to use equipment or skills. Now, for reanimating humans, this is pretty cut and dry, but for other zombie types, the results might get a little interesting.

-Can a Zombie retain any special rules that are not technically Skills? For example, an Eshin Assassin with Perfect Killer, a Sisters of Sigmar Augur getting rerolls, or a Dwarf with Hard To Kill?
-Can a Zombie retain any Mutations/Possession results/etc?
-Can a previously-undead hero become a Zombie in this manner? For example, could one theoretically raise a Zombie Vampire or something similar?

Spell of Awakening--------------------------Difficulty: Auto

The Necromancer calls the soul of a slain Hero back to his body and enslaves him with corrupt magic.

If  an  enemy  Hero  is  killed  (ie,  your  opponent  rolls  11-16  on  the  Serious  Injury  chart  after  the battle) then the Necromancer may raise him to fight as a Zombie in his servitude.

The  dead  Hero  retains  his  characteristics  and  all  his  weapons  and  armour  but  may  not  use  any other equipment or skills. He may no longer run, counts as a Henchman group on his own, and may  not  gain  additional  experience.  This  spell  always  succeeds  (rules  for  Henchmen  and experience are described later). The new Zombie follows all the normal Zombie rules (immune to poison, causes fear) except for retaining his profile, weapons and armour

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes, magic (prayers and spells) counts as skills in this case and cannot be used.
