Cart Confusion

Hello,

The other night at my weekly game, a player took a draft horse from another player's cart out of action with a hero's shooting attack. I believed the hero should have gained experience for taking the enemy creature out of action, but our moderator ruled against it due to the horse sharing a base with the rest of the cart. My arguments are the separate characteristics in the cart's profile for each piece (Cart, Wheel, Horse, Guardian) and the fact that an injury roll was made and resulted in Out Of Action.

What do the good folks here at Tom's think?

We always award experience for horses, etc. We follow your logic above: separate stat lines, injury roll and OoA.

Of course the same lads who must have their experience for taking down the horse, will turn around and argue that they do not have to shoot at a lone horse if it is the closest model, or count the horse as an enemy figure if it is base to base and they want to eliminate its stunned rider. Things occasionally do get murky.

Refer to scenario for how to award experience. XP for enemy models taken OOA would usually include NPC characters, horses, rats, bats, boars, spiders.
