I am looking for plastic skeletons to use for the random encounter and as terrain decoration.

The new GW VC skeletons are far superior models to the old GW skeletons, but I don't think their appearance suits Mordheim.

I want some "plain" skeleton, but which aren't as anatomically incorrect as the old ones.

Any ideas?

Tomb Kings skeletons are mostly plain. Perhaps some of these would work?

if it has to be plastic, you don't have all that many other alternatives to GW.
I'm guessing if the vampire count skellies don't rock your boat, the Mantic skellies won't tickle your fancy either?

If you can live with metals, I'll recommend Otherworld miniatures. Those are the most well-proportioned skeletons I know of in 28mm scale. Cool style too:
