Totally Completely New!!

Hi all... first off, I'm a girl and I don't know if there are many girls that play warhammer or mordheim. My bf is a freak for warhammer and all this stuff and after 4 years he has finally managed to convince me to play. He's also finally convinced me to play Magic: The Gathering... I think all his geek dreams have just come true, lol.

Anyway my background is in role-playing and LARPing so I picked Mordheim as there seems to be more of a role-playing element to it than straight out combat. I've flicked through the sourcebook and he has enough figures to put together a Skaven warband for me (I like rats so that's perfect!) and I think he is going to play the wolf guys (sorry forgot the name already - one of the 3 middenheimer bands anyway). Also the Witch Hunters look cool, so if i like the game I may buy my own figures.

I've got a basic idea of how game play works but I am having trouble working out my warband, all the math seems to escape me, lol. I've seen my bf do it on paper but I was wondering if there were any online calculators to work out warbands? If not I'll just do it the old fashioned way, lol.

Anyway, that's me! I've checked out the painting tutorials and found them really helpful so I will hang out here and hopefully pick up some good tips and surprise my bf at how "fast" I am learning, lol.

well other than looking up someone elses warband there's no real quick internet way (that i know of) to make a warband. you could just force your BF to make you a warband to try out and teach you how to play, thats how i learned to play (minus the BF part...well he was a dude and my friend...you know what forget i said anything). then after you have a hang of the rules and how your warband works you can start making your own to your own liking. but some beginner tips that i usually give to people who ask me how to make a warband, if your playing an on-going campagin get as many heros as you can early off, even the ones that seem like they may not be worth it (like night runners), heroes are what help you make money so you can buy more dudes and more things. and remeber lifes cheap and so are ratkin so don't be afraid to get the lil buggers killed (it's the skaven way!)

There's a Sticky in the Rules & Games Play section for posting new War Bands. Just post your ideas or lack thereof AND you will soon have more advice than you could possibly imagine...or stand.
