Hello all, Well, after posting here and there for a couple of weeks, and admiring all the great miniatures and terrain, I knew it was time to post up some pics of some of my own warbands. I'll start with my Black Orcs, since they're the most recent, and because the name 'Hawkeye' refers to one of the Shootas in the warband (the guy with the bow in what happens to be the blurriest picture of the lot. Sorry!). So, after wrestling with my camera, and then with Photobucket, and without further ado, I give you: The Green Peace Gang! This is Green Peace, the leader of the gang. Unfortunately, in our last game, one of my shootas (appropriately named Bull's Eye) failed his animosity test and shot Green Peace in the back with a critical hit. Green Peace was taken out of action, and rolled a 'dead' result on the Injury Chart. Bull's Eye - again, appropriately enough - then rolled 'the lad's got talent' and was promoted to a hero. And here he is: More to follow!

And so on to the Henchmen. No real stories here, except that my two shootas both (at different times) were promoted to Heroes, and that Crazy Hat is the newest addition to the warband, and the craziest. I'm thinking of modelling him with different hats... And then there's Hawk Eye, of course. Sorry for the blurry pic on this one - I just can't seem to get it any clearer. That said, I'm working on a new version of him, as I've given him 'Weapons Master' so that he can take duelling pistols. The model is converted, but not yet painted, so I'll add him once he's done. Here he is as he stands, though: Most of the heroes are converted, in some small way at least, as are the two shootas, so if people are curious about where the models/bits come from, just ask! Hope you like them...

Green Peace Gang Nice, nice... I like the conversions, they're really amazing. Painting is not bad, altough I think they need some better shading, especially on the skin and weapons (orc weapons shouldn't be so clean ) But the warband is very nice! I'll be waiting for goblins, squigs etc.

Thanks, guys. Looking at the pictures, I know what you mean, Skavenblight, but in the flesh the shading and highlighting is very pronounced - in fact, I was very happy with it. However, they seemed to get all washed out in the photos - I'm not sure why! As for them looking a bit clean - that's true. But then Green Peace runs a tight ship. No slouching, no spitting, and baths every Sunday for the Boys.

Thanks, Hellfoot. Yes, the two shootas have hair - Bull's Eye and Hawkeye. I think you're probably talking about Bull's Eye, though, the guy with a bottle in his hand and a strange look in his eye...

Well, it's nice of you to say, Skavenblight, except that the photos also make it clear that I need to try to be a bit tidier when I paint! The shading, though - some of it certainly has something to do with the photos. I'll have to try to perfect my photographic techniques! I'm not really used to taking photos of minis, though, so I'm hoping that with practice I'll learn pretty quickly.

I love them! Crazy hat is my favorite, and i suggest magnetizing the neck joint so you don't have to waste so many bodies! Orcs won't attack Heroes i'm afraid but the hilarity of Hawkeye's situation makes it worth the loss if you ask me! I guess if he dies we'll assume the mystery of who shot the previous leader will have been solved!

Really? I didn't realize that, Pathfinder. About orcs not attacking heroes, I mean. Well, it's happened now, so I think we'll just continue with the campaign as it is. In any case, I like the idea of the newly promoted leader trying to find out who killed Green Peace (while Bull's Eye whistles and tries not to catch his eye...). Also, Al Gore (the new leader) is an absolute monster, so it's not so bad. Strength five, with Mighty Blow (ouch!), and I gave him the skill that allows him to take any missile weapon that he wants, going with throwing axes to give him a Strength 5 missile attack too! I'll upgrade that as much as I can (multiple shots, extra range, and all the other skills), so that he'll be throwing three Strength 5 throwing axes a round! However, I still wish I had remembered/known the rule about henchmen not attacking heroes. Note to self: read rules more carefully.

| You're doing MUCH better on the photo thingy than moi. Partly due the Demonic Possession of my camera, partly because IT hates me, & MOSTLY because I'm stupid, my photos tend to have a reddish glare to them. But you've got to figure that the photos ARE MUCH larger than the actual mini, SO any little faults are going to be magnified unrealistically. That said... VERY NICE WORK!! Thanks to some clever converting/weapon swapping, you've come up with a VERY well done & QUITE unique Warband. EXCELLENT STUFF, AND some theftwothy ideas. KEEP'EM COMING! _________________ "I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member." Groucho Marx

Thanks, Rancid! Yes, it's the career of an orc, there's no doubt about it! And yes, Cianty, I'm using the Nemesis Crown black orc rules, which (after 7 games or so) seem pretty balanced to me. However, I think I'm going to add a few goblins and squigs as well so that I can also use it as a normal orcs and goblins warband. As soon as I've got models/ converted models/ painted models I'll get some pictures up. Next up, though, is Hawkeye with two duelling pistols (just as soon as I can make those rarity rolls!), and that will be followed by an as yet un-named Boy who has a little gut plate, and who thinks he's an ogre. Thanks for looking!

I am really happy to hear that from someone who has actually played the list as a lot of people seem to think it's horribly overpowered..._________________ Wanted: The Carnival of Chaos Plague Bearer holding the head. PM me! |

Well, animosity actually keeps a lot of things in check, as it's very difficult to coordinate an attack, or any sort of plan at all, in fact. Their success (or lack of it!) does depend on the scenario. Scenarios like the 'Save the Prince' one from 'Chaos on the Streets', which demands a lot of cooperation between warband members, can be a real problem. Other scenarios, like 'Wyrdstone Hunt', they are excellent at. One of the other considerations is that we always play large multi-player games (usually between three and six players), and that often causes me problems. On a final note, I'm notoriously bad at the game. The other players joke that I can make even the most over-powered warband seem average. So, what is the most over-powered warband...? And DeafNala - thank you! Yes, I'm happy with the weapon swaps, and I'm even happier with my bow-wielding Shoota, as the bow is made entirely of greenstuff around a wire armature! As for the photos - it's true, they're quite large. I think I'll make them smaller in the future to hide some of my painting flaws!

Thanks for your explanations, Hawkeye! Well, what is the most overpowered warband? If you're a notorious bad dice roler I guess nothing will help. Skaven are good, but if you fail each of their Ld tests then they are not too good. Maybe Lizardmen? _________________ Wanted: The Carnival of Chaos Plague Bearer holding the head. PM me!

Yes, I like Skaven, in fact, but truthfully, I was only being tongue-in-cheek about it when i asked what the most overpowered warband is. Once our current campaign is over, I'm thinking of playing either dwarves or Nuln Gunnery School in our next campaign. Still have to decide, but whichever I choose, I'll post up pictures as the warband comes together.

In that case, please go with the Gunnery School! It would be great to add pics of such a warband to the gallery section of the NC website._________________ Wanted: The Carnival of Chaos Plague Bearer holding the head. PM me! |

I feel kind of sorry for rooting for Bull's Eye in that game... I didn't expect Green Peice to be killed... I can say that, to my untrained eye, his models look great in person on the tables. Of course, this is from a person who's painting is at the "eh, that's OK I guess" stage... so my opinion may not be the best I look forward to whatever band you pick nextime. I have to get to modeling on some Shadow Warrior henchmen... and get painting on them all...

Nice warband Hawkeye! I like specially the "ogre gut plate" shields, better orcish look imo One question for Cianty about this warband because in our campaign my brother has done a black orc warband: It's is about black orcs max profile; T6, it is correct? more Toughness than an ogre, and even than a WHFB black orc warboss... more than Grimgor Ironhide!!
