| Hi there! For the cam`paign we are planning, some people have shown interest in playing with a lustria list (the lizzardmen one, concretely) or the Pit Fighters. As you well know those are not official lists. My question is WHY they are not official or, if they were in the last (no idea here), why they lost that status. Are they overpowered? Unfluffy? Completely worthless pieces of crap? Secret worshipers of McDonalds? We have to decide if we allow them or not, so some info on thwe reasons of their unofficialness woyuld be extremely cool Thanks a lot Cheers, Xavi | |

The Lustria setting (and Khemri for that matter) including all of their warbands (Dark Elves, Norse, Lizardmen, ...) were never official. They were presented in Town Cryer to spice up your games but they were never official. Only those warbands in the Mordheim Annual and the Empire in Flames books are official in addition to the one from the rulebook. - Elmoth wrote:

Unfortunately yes. I had the questionable pleasure of having a Lizardman warband in one of my campaigns. They were above the average power level and I cannot recommend mixing them with other warbands. - Elmoth wrote:

When playing outside of Lustria (e.g. in Mordheim or in the Empire): pretty much yes. - Elmoth wrote:

No, that would be this warband (click on the pics for more):

| Oh man, he missed the perfect chance to paint his Plague bearer's up like Grimaces (big and purple?)
Also, there are two pit fighter lists, right? The general forum buzz was that one list was more balanced than the other, but I can't remember which.

Well, the second was officially and explicitly overruling the older version (even though that doesn't make the warband itself official). I don't think either of them is overpowered, but I admit that I have never played with or against either.

| That McDonald's warband is hilarious - and really nicely painted too...
As for pit fighters, I wish I could say what they're like. I love the idea of them, and keep meaning to get the box and build the warband, but have just never got round to doing it.

| On paper, they look pretty balanced. Sure, they get a Troll slayer, an ogre hench, and everyone has the skill 'Pit Fighter," but they have no academic skills, no shooting skills (or range weapons, except a 10" javelin), and start off with 4 heroes (the OLD fighter list starts with 6!) And their weapons are limited to certain combinations. Very fluffy, and I think they'd be a lot of fun. Actually, if you're torn between lizardmen and pit fighters, you could always use Lizard minis and play them as a 'counts as pit fighters'. | |

| Lustria and Khemri are unofficial but really it does not matter as they are pretty good Settings. They did grace several issues of the now defunct Town Cryers.
There are a few bugs in each setting that can easily be fixed by a gaming group.
I have always considered all warbands published in the old TCs are official.
Whenever we have a campaign going any of those warbands can be used, though with that said we do tend to keep Lizardmen and a Tomb King Warband out of the City of the Damned.
If soemone really wanted to play one of those 2 warbands I would let them.
The 2nd edition of teh Pit Fighters are the "more" official ones though I am not a fan of the "styles" of pitfighters (Ork, Chaos, Undead and etc) I think it would be better to just let you buy the equipment as you see fit.

On the Specialist Games website? Or the Mordheim Yahoo group.
