Rackham's Tir Na Bor dwarfs as Reikslanders (Image Heavy)

Hey all,

I've been a long time lurker and just made my first post in the rules section. I figured since I started up an account, I should probably post pics of my current project. I'm playing Reikslanders for our group's winter Mordheim campaign. I'm proxying Rackham's Tir Na Bor dwarfs for them. They are a little bulky so they make easy targets. But... /shrug

I just love the models.

I have a few more finished now, but here's a shot of the first three I finished.

That is freaking awesome. You HAVE to write a tutorial on the smooth transitions for your nmm. It's freaking gorgeous.

And the bases are also extremely original. I love how some rocks extend past the top of the base (and touch the floor).

Yeah. I'm really happy with the way they've turned out. The bases are a bit of a pain to make so for the last couple of henchmen I haven't been going quite that nuts. I'll still go the distance for my heros, though.

I love the Rackham stuff but to be honest, the models are large-ish and have so many big pointy things sticking out that they get the crap shot out of them. =P

It makes for interesting games. My main opponent plays a Dwarf Treasure Hunter band and is a really good player. He's way shooty with loads of xbows and a bunch of 4 BSs. Makes life tough. Campaign play is all about the post-game, though. Too much fun! =)

Reiklanders? Why them? If you want a warband to proxy with those rough and tough looking dwarfs, I think Orcs would be more fitting.

Funny you should say that. I thought seriously about orcs. Orcs and Dwarfs both, actually. We have a small gaming group and we already had both Orcs and Dwarfs. I wanted to do something to add in more variety.

Plus, I want to do an Orc warband with TONS of goblins. I'm going to use Rackham orc and gobbo models for that band, too. It probably won't be 'til next winter, though.

Those models are abso-freakin'-lutely amazing, too. LOVE 'em!

Those dwarves are really really amazingly stunning! The NMM is brilliantly done!

Got a couple more painted. The new guys are henchmen with hammers. I'm going to work on some heros next. =)

These, too, look crazy perfect like the first ones. They have a very special and unique style. I like them a lot!

Tip: You will probably get more votes, ie more people will find the warband, if you type Mordheim correctly instead of the typo that seems to be common among those who don't call it "Mord-hime" (which is how an Imperial city's name should be pronounced, based on the German languange) but "Mord-heem".

look im not blowing smoke up your arse when i say this but i think the way you have painted those dwarves is better then how rackham have painted and displayed .

please write some articles on how you paint for all of us please

Beautiful shading, fantastic use of colours, and the bases are excellent. A lot of love, attention, and skill have gone into these models, and it shows.

Thank you very much for the comments. I haven't really ever had anyone ask me to write a tutorial or anything. I have to say though, the amazing painters that take the extra time to share their techniques with other in the form of DVDs or online tutorials are inspiring people. They are like the saints of our hobby.

I may try to work up a 'how to' on how I did this Mordheim band. To be honest, I'd feel a little awkward doing it, but I take the request very, very seriously. In the mean time, I want to point people toward a couple tutorials by the most influential painter in recent years (don't want to forget the McVeys!!!) for me. His name is Sebatian Archer and not only is he one of the more amazing painters that I've ever seen, he is one of the most sharing and helpful elites out there.

And he (automaton) is an amazing sculptor, too. I recently admired his smith on the OZ forum and then the painted one on CMON.
