I am holding off on posting pics until the voting has closed for the Golden Hat 6 competition, as they are obviously all painted in similar style, and I wish to maintain anonymity during the competition. Rest assured that I will be making the pictures available once the voting has closed this Friday. In fact, I signed up for free dial up service so that I could use the internet and do just that, from up at my cottage because my vacation starts this Friday as well!

Hi. I hadn't touched a mini for about ten years until I decided to finish painting the ones that came with my Space Hulk (2nd Ed.) box a couple of months ago. Since then, I've re-discovered the hobby. Somehow I even got my wife interested enough to start painting a Sisters of Sigmar warband (and she's pretty good -- I'm worried).

I only found this blog yesterday, but I'm already a devout follower. The terrain here is insanely inspirational.

Hopefully, I'll have an opportunity to post some pics in the near future.

Also, just as an aside, I saw a topic about Hordes in the forums. I just wanted to say that I had an opportunity to chat with the owner/lead designer at Privateer Press (Matt Wilson) at Comicon San Diego last week. First, let me say that he's incredibly nice, very intelligent, and is really dedicated to making good stuff. Since I'd never really delved into non-GW games, he had to explain how WarMachine and Hordes worked. While most of the mechanics are similar to GW games, there's another dimension to the PP games that seems to set them apart. Focus and Fury respectively. There's a good review of Hordes at www.tabletopgamingnews.com which will do a better job of explaining it than I can. But I got my hands on Hordes: Primal (the rulebook) and starter boxes for the Trollbloods and Circle Orboros. I'm definitely going to finish my Mordheim (and Space Hulk) minis first, but I'm very curious to see how the PP games play in the wild (WarMachine and Hordes are 100% compatible btw). If anyone's curious, I can post a reaction. But it'll be a while. I'm a slow painter. And I really like playing with painted minis.

I've gotten to see a few War Machine games [LOVE steam punk], but I've yet to see a Hordes game [I don't get around much anymore ]. The game(s) look to be fun, although highly competitive [the ones I watched]. PP DOES makes some incredibly COOL minis.

Favourite Fantasy Character: Hrm thats a toughie. For WHFB itd prolly be Aenarion or Grimgor, they're just plain badass. Generic Fantasy wise, Stephen Kings Gunslinger would prolly be my fave, if that can be considered fantasy.

Something about myself: Well I work during the day as a Floor covere, you know tile laminate carpet, and at night I pretty much hang out with my beautiful girlfriend and if im not with her, im doing something with Warhammer. As of late though, even though i've never completed an army, i find myself wanting something new. So i was looking throught the articles on the Specialist Games site and found rules for the Crusades for Mordheim. I read through Mordheims rules and found them to be to my liking. So that being said, my plan is to make a crusader warband, probably using the Brettonian Rules. This will represent A group of Knights of the Blazing sun hunting Infidels in the deserts of Araby. Anyway, ill post the rest of that somewrhere else, look for a thread soon!!

I have been toying with the idea of doing an araby style warband too for a long time now, as I already have a desert style board ready, although i was considering using Marienburger rules (because they are just generic humans and official). So I am really excited to see what you'll come up with!

Wow! Quick reply . Thanks for the welcome! The biggest problem is convincing someone to play the Arabians or some other fluffy warband. My friend wants to start Lizzies, but I dont think theyd be too keen on fighting in Araby.

Cianty, I just looked through the BTB site. Its AMAZING!!!! Looks like I have two Warbands to Complete! Knights of the Blazing Sun and Chaos Marauders using that wonderfull Gamesday Conversion as a basis!

So many ideas, so little funding. *sigh*
