| Here's a few snaps from of my lastest warband - the Bokenhof Residents Association (Ostlanders). The fluff is that Sebastian is a returned soldier and is leading his extended family into Mordheim in search of riches. That's why he has better equipment and the rest look like peasants. Dieter Plopp (Blood Brother), Mama Plopp (Blood "Brother") and Sebastian Plopp ("Elder") Uncle Otto (Ruffian Hero) and Brother Wilhelm (Priest of Taal) Bear, Dodd and Uncle Otto (Ruffians)

| Oh yes, these turned out especially nice. Always wanted to do Ostländer myself, because they are such a flavour-ful warband. Good kitbashing of Frostgrave- and Mordheim-Minis. Lady Plopp is a HellDorado mini, right? What about Mr. Plopp, I don't know that manufacturer. Btw, if you want to give them German sounding names, I'd go with Dieter and Sebastian, but that's up to you of course. On another note, what gaming mat are you using? | |

| Thanks Grimscull. I'll make those spelling change to their names. Father Plopp is Hell Dorado too. One of the Damned I think. I replaced his bakers "paddle" with a grail pilgrim sword. I wish I'd bought a few more of their minis when they were in business. I have their blades for hire, which I'll use in a Marienburg war and. The gaming mat is Deep Cut studios (120cm x 120cm) on mouse pad material. This one. http://www.deepcutstudio.com/product/wargames-terrain-mat-cobblestone-streets/A great mat, that folds for storage and always lies flat again. It travels well too. I bought it in the U.K. and brought it home to New Zealand. | |

| Thanks for the quick reply. Deep Cut was my guess, I just wasn't sure. Did you sculpt the tankards and bottles yourself or are they bitz bought from somewhere? | |

They are bought, not sculpted. I don't have those skills! The bottle is a GW piece I had in my bits box, the tankard held by the centre ruffian is from the Bretonian men at arms. The tankard held by the ruffian hero is from a model by Midlam miniatures. This guy: http://www.midlamminiatures.co.uk/townsfolk/Vill1H.htmlMidlam models are very good, though most are a little small compared to GW. They fit nicely with Frostgrave minis though. They also have some great scenic items.

| Are they beautiful pieces, where did you find them? This is an Ostlander band! Much more realistic than the original!
[EDIT] Ok, I saw your last post now, I did not know them well!

[EDIT] Ok, I saw your last post now, I did not know them well! I always though the official Ostlanders minis looked nothing like the way the fluff described them. It looked to me more like a bunch of miscellaneous figures that had been re-purposed as Ostlanders because GW had nothing else to do with them. As soon as I saw the Frostgrave plastics I thought they'd be perfect Ostlanders. I have made a few more minis, which I'll post soon. I've also started collecting a pack of hounds for them, now that couple of heroes have the animal friendship skill.

| Yes, I agree. I have 3 classic Ostlanders and think I will use them to make the Nuln engineers warband, they are much more suited to that warband! | |

| Thanks for all your kind comments. Here's the rest of the warband, so far: The Jaegers, led by the hero known only as Jaegermeister (2nd from left) Two Kin with sensible hats and a Jaeger with a blunderbuss (an awesome anti-Skaven weapon!) Two more Ruffians: Cousin Olaf, an ogre kin henchman (hoping to get LGT. Then he can buy a bigger shirt!) | |

| Yes, a Jägermeister, what else Some nice additions. I like the shields on the kin (are these in the Frostgrave-sprues?) and this old Ogre model. I think it fits better with this warband than one of the Ogre Kingdom bulls, since this one is a little more "human" looking. The right ruffian is from Hell Dorado again, right? | |

| My Great Uncle Gus "the rabbit hunter" used to refer to himself as Der Jagermeister. It's also the name of a particularly lethal schnapps. All that aside the latest groups of hooligans look OUTSTANDING. Beyond being BEAUTIFULLY painted creations, you've capture the Ostland spirit perfectly. VERY WELL DONE! | |

The shields are from Frostgrave. The right ruffian is from Hell Dorado. The one falling over is from the GW giant. I was lucky to find a pile of the old Heroquest ogres in a garage sale many years ago. I still think they are the best ogre models. While their poses are static, they have fantastically expressive faces and I like their bulk. They are a little shorter than the Bull ogres and look more "chunky". I am working on a new ogre kin model for this warband. The one pictured is actually on loan from my witch hunters. The new one looks even more dim-witted than this one.
