My Averlander Warband - Carturello Italy

Hello to all. I also add my contribution to the forum .

I am a new player in Mordheim .

This is my Averlander Warband. I hope you appreciate them!

Anyon else having problems seeing the pics? Not Von Kurst, obviously, but maybe it's not just me? Other than that, welcome to the forum, carturello!

Edit: now I see them. Good job on both. Even bowstrings...

Armor is the sign of a successful War Band. Your BEAUTIFUL creations are successes in the brushwork & basing as well. The attention to detail is remarkable. VERY WELL DONE!

I will post all the other members. I have not finished, i paint 7 figures, heroes and Halflings.

There are Youngblood and one of two paintings halfling.

TERRIFIC! I love the checks & stripes. Your brushwork & choice of colors is OUTSTANDING. The bases add just the right finishing touch. VERY WELL DONE once more!  

Everything looks great so far!! I agree with Deaf, the stripes and checkers are a nice touch. You are very talented!

I wasn't sure with the first two minis, because the pics were too small, but yes, you are really good with faces.

Wow these guys are great.I love that captain model and a great paint job on him.

The youngblood looks awesome. Can I ask, what is your recipe for the yellow? Am currently painting some Averlanders and wish I could get them looking as crisp as yours, been struggling with a good yellow combo.

I paint before with acrylic base and lights, then with oil colors do the shadows.

I use GW Golden Yellow (too old small bottle 90's) base, I do not know what is the modern equivalent color, after I mixing the color with yellow sunburst GW and Vallejo yellow lemon. Finally I make the shadows with Sienna and Burnt Sienna oil, always to do one last hand to the light oil with Naples Yellow.

This other 2 guys, Bergjaeger#1 and Halfling #2, tomorrow i post last Bergjaeger.

What do you use for the bowstrings and the rope? While I like your faces again, the halfling's hat and the Bergjäger's quiver look rather flat. Or is this intentional? Like, is everyone supposed to look on the faces and the checkered parts mostly?

Next two figure i will paint are 2 Mountguard, not immediately, now I have to stop for a while 'because I have commissioned works to do, I come from a different type of model (Japanese Super Robots in resin high 30-35 cm) that I paint with an airbrush.

It's not intentional, just so far I have painted less than 20 warhammer figurines in my entire life and I'm learning, I paint models of another type since 2008 (as written above Japanese Super Robots paintings airbrush) but I am passionate permanently in this Warhammer world alone a year ago.

These models have been paint fast enough facts for the tournament, I put a lot of care in the faces but I missed some nuances in the clothes, get better gradually them also. :-)

PS: I forgot, I do the strings with a thin twisted brass wire with 2 toothpicks

I had forgotten to switch on the last thumbnail of the band painted so far, here is the second Bergjaeger. Now I'm stuck for a while 'cause i paint other jobs, I think to reprise the band in late August.

OUTSTANDING! The Roguish Archer's expressive face really makes the miniature for moi...EXCELLENT brushwork, basing, & color choices. VERY WELL DONE! 

Another great addition. Reminds me of last year's discussion about archers actually were putting their quivers on their backs or not. Where is the quiver-bit from btw?

ok! if I understand your question you want to know where I got the quiver. I carved myself with the Green stuff, like I did with the arrows of the sergeant. The heads of the arrows in the quiver are those of the old archers 6a Bretonnia

Great matte effects on your color scheme. I like your use of oil paints to help achieve your look. I agree with the rest, your faces are full of character and just love the bowstrings. Thanks for sharing.

Eilà, grazie del benvenuto, intanto dalle mie parti ho cominciato una campagna, prima partita ho provato per la prima volta i Nani Rangers e mi sono divertito più che con gli Averlander giocati invece alla seconda partita. Mi sa che continuerò con quella banda :-D

Thanks to the welcome, I started a campaign, first game I tried it for the first time the Dwarves Rangers and I enjoyed it more than with Averlander instead played the second game. I know that I will continue with dwarf band :-D
