Hi ... i have a little question, we had a Arm Wound (23 in Injuries table) and the person take Severe arm wound. The arm must be
amputated. The warrior may only use a single onehanded
weapon from now on.

So I have a question in that point. the miniature can Use Crossbow with only one arm? in every photo or every place i think the crossbow must be taken with 2 hands(arms) but in no place of the rules says that the crossbow is 2handed weapon ...
So ... it can be? he can use the crossbow?

thx.

I think it's an unofficial rule supported by Mordheim Mods (like DaBank and Brahm) and most players that bows and crossbows must be used with both (=two) hands. Ultimately it's up to your gaming group since an official ruling is lacking. This is one of those cases where you need to apply common sense.

Like Cianty pointed out It was never officially spelled out in detail in the rule book but it would be safe to assume you would not be using a xbow or bow. It is really one of those things that doesn't need to be explained in detail that a handgun, bow, crossbow and etc require two hands.

yes, people have tried to show people shoot a bow with their teeth(you tube) but it would be hard to explain that these people would be still alive in Mordheim (medievel time period).

If you can justify to yourself that you could accurately load, and fire a crossbow using only one arm then go ahead, if not, then I think you know the road to take. Very Happy

Please note: Andy (DaBank) is an Answer_Mod for Mordheim over at the Specialist Games forum so his answer is official regarding this issue. You will need to find a way to solve this in your gaming group.

In reality, a crossbow requires even pressure either side of the wooden frame to draw the string evenly. Two hands are most definitely required.

On the other hand, a handgun or pistol can be loaded and cocked with only one hand. Although, in the case of the handgun, it would likely be a custom piece to allow you to brace it for firing.

Basically, house rule it. I wouldn't allow crossbows/repeater crossbows or bows to be used one handed, but I would allow crossbow pistols (drwn using a screw in the back of the weapon) and blackpowder weapons.

Check out Brotherhood of the Wolf for examples of what I've been talking about.

In fact, watch the film anyway. It's awesome. Seems to be most of the inspiration for Empire in Flames as well...

i think that you should apply the common sense, ¿how could a model reloaded a crosbow only with one hand?? i recognise that is very dificult do it with the two hands (you can try).
in some cases you can apply some house rules, but in my opinion that model couldnt use a gun or a crossbow, but only in my opinion lol!

Yes w think so ... but its hard to assume by the affected person ... if your captain have lose his arm ^^ he try to explain us how he can reload his xbow with his feet and using the floor ^^ muahahahahaha

We make some hously rules... and one will be that bows and xbows need 2 hands to use it ... Sir, yes sir!

SORRY ABOUT THE OFF TOPIC...kind of!

The Brotherhood of the Wolf IS a personal favorite, AND I couldn't resist adding a bit to THIS subject. Shadow Forge Female Fantasy's Laughing Monk Miniatures range produce some RIGHT ON minis of BotW look-alikes. If you'd like to check them out go to www.thewarstore.com & look under the Fantasy Minis section for the Shadow Forge Female Fantasy:
LM0005 Fracoise Chateur
LM0006 John Running Elk
LM0009 MacIntyre the Marksman
LM0010 Miss Delina the Duelist
LM0013 The Scarlet Woman

ON TOPIC: while I can't really see how you could load or aim a crossbow single handed, it might be a cool modeling project to convert a mini to having a crossbow as a prothetic device in place of the missing area of the hero's arm. With a crank & ratchet device like on a heavy crossbow, it would be possible to draw back the string. What such a device would cost I leave to more rules-worthy minds than my own.Suspect

It doesn't make sense that is why the official ruling from the Answer Mods on the SG forum (Like Cianty pointed out I am one) (ANSWER_MOD_DABANK) it doesn't work and we have ruled accordingly.

Again, House rule if you like.
