Has anyone tried applying the Serious Injury table to henchmen as well as heroes? It occurred to me that the serious injury table added a lot of interest and some suspense to the post battle, and it was a shame it couldn't be used more. I figured using it for henchmen would be an easy way to add more of that Mordheim horror and randomness to the game. Do you have any thoughts on how this might effect balance or otherwise not be a good idea?

We tried it for a bit in my group. It doesn't make things more unbalanced, but it does add to the book-keeping and really only works if you only have your henchmen in groups of 1. We found the most fun was had when we had a campaign where *all* henchmen levelled up and took injuries as heroes. Then we just went back to Necromunda for a bit. Then played a few campaigns and remembered *why* only keeping track of a few heroes was such a blessing and went back to mordheim for a while. We flip-flop a bit.

I can understand that. I have all my henchdwarfs in groups of one, so it would make sense for me. I've only had one or two casualties per game for the last few games, so I doubt it would slow too much down. Plus the post-game is my favorite part, so I like anything to stretch it out.

In our group we roll the extended serious injuries for hired swords which is fun. We keep the 1-2 dead 4-6 live for henchmen because they are ment to be disposable like the goons in a james bond film, i know it sucks losing a big guy henchmen so easily or a cool henchmen that has somehow acquired a mutation.
If you do end up making henchmen roll on the serious injuries table keep us posted.
I think it would be pretty fun having injured up zombies and it would make pitfights actually scary for a change.

Sounds like an interesting idea. I may suggest it next time we start up a campaign.

I already have a hard time keeping track of which henchmen have which level up once the warbands get into the 12+ model range. Tracking injuries too sounds more fiddly than I would like.
