| So I've always sort of imagined skaven slaves as the diseased runts of the litter, so when I saw the Hobbit goblin warrior miniatures I thought "hey, a little green stuff and some tails and I think these would fit the bill perfectly." One thing that troubles me however is the faces. Do I just need to sculpt on a snout or would they need intense cosmetic surgery? Also, while I don't mind sculpting/bitzing tails I'm all ears for any other ideas in that way.
Thanks, and pics to come soon if this gets off the ground

Would a head swap work? | |

| I've always thought they would fit nicely into Mordheim in some way. Being hunched, pale and diseased-looking makes them fit right in!
If you could sculpt snouts and tails I think they'd look the part. Head swaps may be difficult since the goblins are pretty small and in a smaller scale to skaven. they are also one-piece models I think.
i'd love to see pics if you do it. Good luck.

| The Rat Guys look PRETTY GOOD. Just go for buck teeth rather than fangs on the top one AND you have it. EXCELLENT START! | |

| Those are totally scary skaven, very well done! The second one has a rather unusual stance for a skaven and the tails are missing yet of course, but these look very promising. | |

| Personally, I liked the other eyes better, especially on the second mini. Looks more realistic imo. But the pose is very "ratty" again. | |

| The last one is marvellous, just the right sickly look, and the oversized eye actually really works for me, looks like one of those cave-creatures or night-active rodents with huge eyes. | |

| Well, I'll finish up one of these guys and paint him to see how it's working out. It's easy to sculpt something without considering how you're going to paint it. | |

| ... which I'd like opinions on: with skaven do you tend to paint flat surfaces fur colors or should i be trying to texture any part with fur on it? | |

| Interesting thread! The good thing about these goblins is that when you do mess up some of the sculpting it doesn't look bad on the mini. Great models to practice snout sculpting | |

| Nice GS work!
Really cool idea to use the Goblins, I've always thought some of the LoTR and Hobbit minis might translate well...
Can't wait to see these chaps painted up.
