Regiment of renown oldhammer style

Warboss Kurgan was the one who posted the rules here first. I liked them and now I wanted to test them with third edition rules

This is the smal village named "village neuf"

A Brettonian knight was resting in the tavern with two of his villains  and croossbow men when the message arived that a small chaos mob was seen moving in the direction of the village.

The knight immediately organised the defense with his men and some rascals/ farmers.



No Dogs of war and no additional magic weapon were provided. My enemy was a new to Warhammer so I wanted to make it more easy.

The Brettonian regiment

1 Chevalier D'Honneur with barding
2 villains,
2 crossbow men
5 rascals

The chaos regiment

1 thug on horse with lance and heavy armour shield
1 minotaur with additional hand weapon
3 beastmen with additional hw

Unfortunately I do not have more pics.

But the minotaur and chaos thug attacked the badly positioned knight, which fled after being attacked ( we played the rout wrong) The knight was killed and the rascals who wanted revenge for their leader also died but did injure the thug leader.

The villains and rascals were stopped by the beastmen , which killed one Brettonian after another.

With the first rout test the Brettonian ran away.

We did play the routing Brettonian knight wrong and did play the additional hw wrong. I used the Mortheim rules which was much too powerful. With correct rules the battle would not have been so one sided.

I love that Ws really does matter. The rascals with Ws2 have really trouble to hit the the Ws4 beastmen, but this was mitigated due to their charge.

I also love the push back rules which allow to break into a battle line and make room for more own attackers next turn.

Although we did plenty wrong we had lots of fun. Each battle was finished after roughly one hour so they went by really quickly." />

Lovely to see more oldhammer here, after all we belong in the same boat. Or is that the same nuthouse?

great little update on your oldhammer thingy, wish it was me pushing around minis today, BUT i had a stroll in my workshop and model the shit out of a piece of clay!
Next time i´ll be there mommy! BUT please turn the pics one time clockwise, my neck realy hurts now!

This is beautiful! Nice way to introduce new players to the hobby. I am a great fan of Regiment of Renown rules and I hope some day to have a regiment of my own. This is my inspiration:

I'm not familiar with the Regiments of Renown Rules, but I've used the W.H. War Bands Rules quite a few time...pretty decent rules. At any rate it is an attractive game with a nice manageable number of minis involved. GREAT STUFF!  

I post some pics of games I played with my 5 year old daughter

These are Ipad pics again so I fear there are some neck benders included.

She played the princess withn her adventure group who looks to get the treasure from the Khemrian Tomb

The game yesterday made me proud.

May daughter wanted to play the Vampire with their undead minions.

The oponent where a Brettonian adventure group in a race for treasures hidden in the tower and on the pirate ship. ghost, dryads and other undead where securing the area







Please tell me if these pictures are also neck benders, because I only used the vertical picture mode. My Ipad somehow recognises the correct picture direction.

Both games look WONDERFUL despite all but the last picture in the Khemrian Tomb Report being horizontal. The minis & terrain are BEAUTIFUL...is The Tower one of Ben's creations? GREAT STUFF!

What I really love is the dreadfleet mat as water. I am so happy that I purchased it then.
