Fantasy GS Sculpting Projects

So this is another project i'm starting. The idea is a possessed warband, i'm watching alot of pictures from Breugel, Bosch, kentaro miura and medieval monster painting for reference:)

That frog-helmet is looking especially cool! What is that blue stuff you use for the shields?

The stuff just keeps getting cooler. The new Guy in the Hood & the projected Possessed Thingies are FANTASTIC. WONDERFUL WORK all around!  

Wow christian, you use the same inspirations like i do, and the only thing that will come out of it, compared with your greenskillz will be AWESOME! Like the helmet head, MORE!

Grimscull: The blue stuff is instamold, (a rewiew: http://www.herebegeeks.com/games/instamold-review-and-quick-urban-basing-tutorial/) It's perfect for making molds of stuff and duplicate them with green stuff:) And it's reusable. I tried to copy a entire figure, but it's qiute hard and I have not had the time to perfect the procedure yet.

Actually I was talking with a guy on making a possessed warband for him, but the idea turned to be a Joker character instead, nut I couldn't let go of the idea... so one thing led to another and here I am, going through tons of old mordheim related boxes:)

hmmm, i'm thinking it would be best to move the mordheim related in this thread to the painting and modelling thread in the mordheim section.. but Ill just do another thread there when this project gotten some air under it's wings:)

Well, as you can see, his feet look hideous (imo) so i'm going to change them later on:)

Morghot: I'm using sculpting tools, small ones in steel that resembles dentist tools. And also needles, toothpicks and just about anything I can find that suit:) A brush with a rubber head is nice for smoothing the surface also:) Updates coming soon!

I like all of it, the sculpting, the paintjob, and the drawings. The drawings actually remind me of some stuff Walter Moers did, a german author and comic artist.

OH BABY! Those are UBERCOOL, WONDERFULLY BIZARRE Whatevers! While your more realistic pieces are BEAUTIFUL, when you let your imagination take over the results are of SURPASSING ARTISTRY. FANTASTICALLY WELL DONE!  

And he can even paint, now that's unfair...
I like the freehands on the shield a lot, they are very accurate. They puzzle my though, or better, I would have expected something else. Because they look a lot like ancient greek shields, while the warrior with his frog-helmet and pelt has a more fantasy-ish style. But that's all cool of course.

Thankyous for commenting! Yes the sheild has a ancient greek stile, I had sarumans mark of the white hand in mind whilst doing it:) I'm been thinking and i kind of like the idea that demonic hordes could be anachronistic with their armors and so on.
