Expeditionary Force

Recently I started painting 500pts "army" of High Elves, and I wanted to share with you my work. So here goes,
10 Lothern Sea guards for start.






They will be finished soon. Critiques and comment are welcome as always!

The Pointy Eared Ones are LOOKIN' GOOD! Watching an Army/War Band develop is always a pleasure & a source of inspiration. Keep us up dated as things develop.  

Now then, War Hammer Armies go in the Fantasy Shout Section. SO I'll move you over there.

They need a little more highlights but I'm satisfied with this...

The Sea Guard painted up SPLENDIDLY...finishing a unit is a wonderful feeling. GREAT WORK!

yes! more elves

500 points worth of elves are quick to fill, what type of army are you planning on?

I've recently regained my love for seaguard in this edition, and would recommend using them at all times running them as a massive horde (which is 500+ points on its own :p) pity I've painted all my core units some 14 years ago when my painting was not what it is now...

I got little sidetracked with WWII skirmish that I'm currently playing with my friend.

I don't know where my army is going... I am more in fluff then game mechanic... I'm currently reading The End Times so who knows how my army will end...

I don't think that High Elves are meant to play in hordes, because they got Martial Prowess. With that rule you can have exactly what other armies have with horde.

I still have to paint 5 Swordmasters and a Mage for my 500 points.

For awhile the W.D's 500-750 pt. War Band Rules were all the rage at Monkey Head, a gaming store I frequented. I wound up doing a couple of War Bands; it really is a very nice size for a friendly game. That aside, the Pointy Eared Ones are LOOKIN' GOOD! Posing them on that attractive setting really adds to their appeal. GREAT WORK!    

If you like to post your exploits into WWII, the Historical Section of the Shout It Out could use some love.  

Small games win everytime over throwing buckets of dice kn pointless mega games.

The elves looks good, maybe a light wash to make them pop? Really nice base!

This batch of Pointy Eared Ones is probably THE BEST thus far...starting with the normal troopers is an excellent idea. VERY WELL DONE!

Final piece, Eghlonyl High Elven (Arch)mage:

The Elvin Enchanter looks the part...once more GREAT brushwork & a continuation of your FINE choice of color have made a good mini better. The swirling magical tendrils on the base are a SPLENDID little enhancement. VERY WELL DONE!  

Now all you need a Group Portrait .  

Very nice. The gem work is particularly good. These Isle of Blood models are pretty nice and can be had at a great price on that auction place. I will certainly use your painting as an inspiration when I start on mine.

I traded my bolt thrower for a new model, so I had to paint that one too. Now I only need someone to play with, which is the hard part of the hobby...

The Group Portraits really make the Projects shine...this is no exception. The Pointy Eared Warriors look WONDERFUL together. VERY WELL DONE!  

GOOD LUCK in your games search. If you ever find yourself in the Austin area, my undefeated (because they've never been used) Night Goblins will be waiting.

I don't know where you live, but there's got to be someone nearby who's nice enought to play against?

I've steered clear from GW resident players for quite some time now, but have found loads of casual gamers in the area through small tournaments and battles. usually mordheim players have some affinity with fantasy so they're bound to be triggered into a game?
