Lightbox's Sisters of Sigmar: Order of the shattered heavens

So I've been spending pretty much all of yesterday and today building these lasses which has taken a lot of blood, sweat and greenstuff

But joking aside with my warband i didn't really want to go with the robed nun look because well if you're gonna leave your monastery to go kick peoples ass and collect wyrdstone then are you gonna run around in nun robes which'll be hard to move in properly or are you gonna wear some decent armour and smash people apart with hammers.

These girls have gone for the latter and i really liked how its turned out. Anyway onto the point of this thread, the models

First we have our Matriarch





As you can see her holy relic is the almighty 'Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch'

Painting wise I'm thinking of having my colour pallet being: Purple, Beige, Gold & Silver. The gold and silver mostly for the weaponry, beige for the cloth bits and I'm thinking a nice dark reddish purple for the armour

Ooh, promising start indeed! I'm a little skeptical about the converted Sig hammers, but a little paint may just convince me

Wow, that was quick. And the Shadow Warriors really do work as a basis. Maybe you could remove some of the very elvish stuff (crowns, hearts) and replace them with more sigmarish details. Or you just declare your Sisters to be from the order of the crowned heart (of doom...)

The products of the long, cooperative exchange are quite STRIKING...a refreshing change from the normal look. Sister Superior #1 is positively inquisitional in her hood. Have FUN with the painting et al!

@Noisy I understand what you mean with the hammers haha but i reckon they should look better when painted and violenty chopping up sprues was the only way i could think to make the hammer heads with what i have haha XD

@Grim Yeah i might try getting rid of some of the hearts although armour wise they probably would have gone and aquired it from shops or blacksmiths once the sisterhood went to battle but yeah i could always paint those bits orange and call them the order of the flaming heart haha

@Deaf haha yeah i wanted to go with something different and yeah Sister superior #1 is one of my favourites haha the helmets seem to work really well to give them a darker more intimidating look

I reckon most of their sigmary look will come from their paint scheme though i might try and raid my space marine and black templar sprues for some more purity seals and stuff for my heroines

This models are perfect for replace sisters of sigmar!
The hammer are really strange but they could works, for me it would be better cut off the cross-guard from the hilt and increase the size of the handle into smaller ones.

Another advice: the helmets is cool but they are too elvish for me... why don't cut off the top and make them more similar to the traditional templar helmet? For me that simply conversion can make a big difference for make them more sisters look and less elves! But obviously is your choice!

I could try cutting off the helmet but i kinda like the pointy :/ although i know with my group i'm playing with none of them really do elves so shouldn't be too bad and could always say the armour they bought happened to be some elvishy armour but i'll have a think about it

Also yeah i can have a bit of a mess around more with some of the hammers though i think with how i used the ethereal bows as the shafts i could paint the licks and bits coming off like flames to make them look like they're burning with holy light or something. I reckon a lot of the sisters feel will come with how they are painted i guess

I will admit to not being too fond of G.W's take on Elves other than some of the woodsier variety. That said, the minis look far better as Sister's of Sigmar than they do as Elves...the pointy helmet/cowl adds a sinister touch to the the Holy Babes. Ultimately though, if it looks good to you, that is the way to go.  

Cheers deaf, yeah im still decided on whether to cut down the helms or not but im definitely leaving the matriarch helm as it is as it looks nice and sinister and also reminds me of tomoe from persona 4 XD couple with the whip reminds me of its shadow form and im half tempted to make her helmet yellow haha. Now i just need a throne of bodies for her to really be shadow chie...

Mine was only a suggestion, if you prefer like they are don't listen to me eheh, like Deafnala said:
"if it looks good to you, that is the way to go."!

At most try on one helment first and see the result, but if you want to mantain the matriarch helmet is better to keep all like the same for me, so keep the top definitively <.<!
