| Since you guys are so incredibly friendly with your feedback, I figured I'd also post some pics and a bit of background to our Mordheim campaign, which saw its start last Tuesday. Our club is called De Kromme Dolk, which translates to The Crooked Dagger, and it sounds like a fine name for a campaign. Not sure why it's called that, but that's what it's called. The First BattleThe first battle saw a Marienburg warband led by a gruesome fighter going by the name of Wilhelm Kunz battle against a gang of Eshin led by a nasty skulker named Splinter. The battle was won by Marienburg, and a Clan Eshin member, being greedy, ended up falling into a well trying to score some Wyrdstone, but in the end they came out for the better as both the Marienburgers and the Skaven tried buying a Mordheim Map and the Skaven found a perfect one, giving them a very good head start to the campaign, while Marienburg came out bust. The Hunt of Heinrich SprengerNext up were my friend and his Blood Knights against my Witch Hunters, led by Heinrich Sprenger. The Blood Knights advanced through a destroyed part of a city wallHeinrich and his gang quickly advanced, while the Flagellants took up one flank and the dogs were sent to the other flank. The Flagellants were greeted by a Hellhound, which they quickly killed (because he forgot about a rule, but that's what happens). Fearless as they were, they quickly ganged up on the houndThe coward Ferdinand von Wittelsbach stood high up, firing his crossbowBefore the first true blows were struck, a group of plaguestruck residents entered the fray, screaming for help. Plague VictimsAs the battle began, the Plague Victims came to join in and quickly infected three of my men. The Plague Victims came in and interrupted the battleHeinrich Sprenger, Peter Teitler and the Flagellant called Jost all fell, and the Blood Knights knew that they were better off retreating than meddle with these plagueridden folk. They went away with two pieces of Wyrdstone, but not all of them went home. One of their initiaties as well as the hellhound that fought the Flagellants were left dead on the streets, while the Witch Hunters went home terribly ill, but alive. The next battle would be a small one, as Heinrich, Peter and Jost won't be able to join in.

| Tombs DisturbedAgain the warband of Wilhelm Kunz entered the city. This time they encountered a warband of Tomb Kings. Even though the Tomb Princess managed to slay a grand total of two Youngbloods and a Henchman, as well as capture a fourth to drag him to the pits (honestly, those guys at Cutthroat's Den will do business with EVERYONE), they withdrew to allow the Marienburgers a shot at finding some more loot. So even though the Marienburg Marauders won the battle, it was a with grave losses. The fight was a complete humiliation for the poor guy, who had to run back to his camp butt-naked. Jacob Würfel and the Rat PlagueAs Heinrich Sprenger lay vomiting in his bed, his trusted companion Jacob Würfel the Warrior Priest took it upon himself to enter the city. Two Zealots, Klaus Hund and Jan von Lahr had joined the cause, and together with this small band they entered, to find Clan Eshin against them. Having found a dog pen with a much more vicious breed, they had traded their puppies for these bad boys. It would not take long for fighting to commence. In the middle of the table pretty much everyone went up against one another. The Skaven sorceror launched a ball of green energy to knock down the Flagellants, while the most vicious of Skaven went up against two of Heinrich's heroes, which were promptly cut down. Jacob, realizing his defeat, retreated and the Skaven decided to take their two Wyrdstone pieces and call it a day as well. Johan von Mespelbrunn was terribly mutilated, now causing fear where ever he goes, and one of the new recruits lay dead on the streets. Johann saw Jan von Lahr laying there lifeless next to a dirty Skaven. He spat on the Skaven and screamed curses into the air. At the same time, Albrecht the Flagellant seemed to possess a clarity and glitter in his eyes long not seen in him. He would from this day forth lead his Flagellant brothers into battle as their leader, now a hero. Darkness in the StreetsAt the same time, cult leader Sith Aram encountered a Dark Elf warband led by Khaelon Ruunya, and combat ensues. Khaelon charged the large Possessed together with a Fellblade, but both were quickly cut down. At the same time, a Beastmaster and Fellblade attacked two Darksouls. With two pieces of Wyrdstone already in their possession, and two more laying in reach for the Possessed, and the leader of the Dark Elves laying unconscious, Sith Aram took the curious decision of calling it a day and leaving. Victory for the Dark Elves, though Sith Aram was the real victor. Khaelon was now horribly disfigured, but there were no casualties. Sith Aram's trusted mutant decided it was good to be able to scale houses like a spider man, even though he had a scorpion tail, making him an even more unnerving opponent than he already was. It was an interesting day in Mordheim.

| Yes we are. In the Dark Elf versus Possessed battle we rolled the Rat Infestation, but as both players are completely new to the game, and I don't have any rat swarms, we let that one slide by, so to speak. In my first battle we rolled Plague Victims, which ended up getting three of my men very sick, having to miss a game. One more thing I do to keep enthusiasm high is write a newspaper called the Mordheim Post. It's in Dutch, but perhaps you guys will find some inspiration from it for your own gaming group. http://dekrommedolk.proboards.com/thread/223/de-mordheim-post-hier-verkrijgbaar |

| Oh my goodness, our campaign has really taken off. Some of us couldn't resist and started a second and then third warband, it is literally insanely awesome already, and we've only had somewhere around 6 game nights. At the moment, we have the following warbands: Beastmen Two Tomb Kings warbands Marienburg Mercenaries Altdorf Mercenaries Three Witch Hunter warbands Dark Elves Two Sisters of Sigmar warbands Slayer Dwarfs Amazons Clan Eshin Possessed Pirates and almost every model is painted. There are still more warbands to come, as there is a second Pirate warband that may start soon and Dwarf Treasure Hunters, plus possibly a Middenheim warband. Awesome!! Too much is happening for me to keep track of everything, so I will just show you some highlights. Bogdan Starcrusher, leader of the Dwarf Slayers, thought it a good idea to charge at a Sisters of Sigmar warband. This was the result. A hammer smash split his skull open, leaving him dead on the spot. My friend was not happy, and decided to bring his Amazons the week after to battle my Altdorf warband, who had grown very strong after one underdog battle and two very lucky rolls. His leader rolled multiple injuries, subsequently rolled a 6, broke both her legs, got robbed of her rare 12 equipment, and was sold to the pits. The look on his face was pretty humorous. We decided that his warband had conducted a shamanistic healing ritual in which they channeled all their experiences into a full healing session (read: he started afresh). This campaign is just so much fun! |

| Thank you guys! Happy to be back.
For tonight we have planned something special. We are playing a four-player Battle Royale Cockatrice Hunt. It's basically the Monster Hunt scenario with some added rules and a fully painted Cockatrice to turn our men into stone. We have one new player (using my Marienburg warband, pics to follow) and just now another friend of mine, whom I was pushing to join with one of my warbands, called me to ask if I had a warband spare. Tough luck for him, I just gave away my last currently fully painted warband, so he is going to have to wait it out for me to get him a painted warband (which I will do).
Looking forward to it. |

| Painting up a War Band for a friend(s) is, to my mind, a sign of good fellowship that is the hallmark of gaming at its finest... WELL DONE! I'm looking forward to your photos; the game sounds exciting with the possibility of instant statuehood. AND that SPLENDID photo of the Slayer's demise (sure, go ahead & pick on a Girl!) gives a hint at what we have to look forward to. HAVE FUN! | |

| Thank you Deaf! Quite a few friends now use warbands painted by me, but that's okay. I enjoy the process, they don't, my models see some use, and this Mordheim campaign has kind of brought back some of my friends, so I now see them a little more often than I used to, which is great!! Everyone is enjoying themselves and we are having a wonderful time, so it's worth the extra effort for me.
So the Cockatrice Hunt has come and gone. We had a wonderful evening that started with someone dropping our Tabletop World Inn on the floor, destroying it. That's okay though, it wasn't intentional.
Then we placed the Cockatrice. My Sisters charged forwards to try and score the Exp. On my left the Marienburg Marksmen had positioned themselves to pepper the Cockatrice from afar, while on my right the Shadow Warriors were doing the same. One turn the Cockatrice could take a look at one of my Sisters but she dodged him. I positioned myself to charge him with half my warband. Then, the Marksmen of Marienburg scored a cricital hit, and he fell to the ground, the Possessed in front of me came towards me and before I could land the killing blow, the Shadow Warriors managed to score the killing hit. So yes, the Cockatrice model saw some action, but not a whole lot. Still, it's all about the atmosphere and he looked cool on the table. The Possessed killed my beautiful Verena von Strenge (cookie if you get the reference), who died of her wounds despite efforts from my Matriarch Margritta and Agnes the Augur, who had medical knowledge. She will be avenged!!
Quite surprisingly, she was the only casualty aside from the Cockatrice. I forgot that I could re-roll my first Rout test but it was okay. The Shadow Warriors made a deal with Marienburg, I suppose because they were impressed by their Marksmen, and they shared the loot, netting the Shadow Warriors a win.
I couldn't take good pics because the room was pretty dark. I will see if I can do something on Photoshop. |

| Sorry to here about the Inn...those things are pricey & not easiest of things to paint. GOOD LUCK with the Photo Shop! I can relate to the painting for other Folk. For quite a few years I was the only painter in my erstwhile AD&D Group. Having the minis in use & appreciated was more than worth the effort...mostly. | |

| Well, you guys are so awesome I couldn't NOT put in some effort to show you the gaming table we played on. I am slowly making progress on the Streets of Mordheim project, but it's a LOT of work. Good thing the material is grey, even unpainted it looks alright. |

| Sorry to hear about the Inn. Yipe!
The table does look pretty good even in its current state. I am still a bit tickled to see the same wallpaper used on your old table and my ancient, but still current, risers. | |

| Last Saturday we played another multiplayer game, this time with 5 folks, and again with too much beer. We played a Varghulf Hunt, where the area was also littered with Vargheists, so chaos was inevitable. Ultimately, the Shadow Warriors won again with their wussy tactics, and two of my Sisters of Sigmar were killed. Then, yesterday we played another multiplayer battle, this time at the club, with 7 warbands. Dragon Hunt this time. It was a bit too much with all the warbands but I enjoyed myself nevertheless, even though again I was the one drawing the short straw, with one of my Witch Hunter Flagellants getting killed by an Orc and my Warrior Priest Jacob Würfel being eaten by a Spawn... Ibo Natnek in the back here is the hero of the campaign, slaying the Dragon with a well timed shot of his crossbow (which I will attach to his person in due time) doing massive damage and felling the beast. Too bad my powerhouse priest got eaten... Sad times indeed. Luckily another Warrior Priest, Helmut Großkreutz, will be there to replace him and continue the fight in the name of Sigmar. And yes, I do have another model for that. |
