Many seem to house rule (corheim forexample) the dagger with -1S. The knife is slightly to good in Vanilla, still -1S doesn't really represent that you fight with a sharp steel weapon.
So I though that you instead ad the following rule:
Short Range – a dagger is a short weapon, and a warrior must come in close on his enemy to be able to strike. therefore a dagger strikes last in the first round of combat. If both has the strike last rule (i.e. Double Handed Weapons) who ever charged strikes first.

Now I don't know if one should keep the +1 to enemy AS, or if this is enough a limit?
This is just an idea, so please tell me what you think.

Well personally I really like the +1AS simply beacause it interacts with armour Smile

What I said in the Axe fix thread partly applies to daggers too imo. If armour was more present & potent, people would try to avoid giving the opponent an additional +1AS when he already has got say 5+ from a shield.

So for me the dagger is fine as it is.

Dagger: Strength: as user; Special rules: Armour Save Modifier; Short Reach.

Armour Save Modifier: Daggers add 1 to the opponents armour value.
Short Reach: Daggers have a very short reach and as such do not benifit from Strikes First when charging.

I thought the "strike last" would work well with the DW problem, this mean that if you give a club to your warrior, he will still gain the extra attack, only the chance of being able to use the extra becomes reduced (since the opponent gets a chance to injure you before you strike back).

Lord 0: your alteration may be more sensible.

I like daggers as they are. We already trade up to shields, double-handed weapons or second hand weapons as soon as we can afford it, so I don't see any particular reason to make daggers less effective.
