Hi!
I have a question about the skill for Beastmen to buy a mutation.
For exemple the great claw mutation. Because I've modelled a Gor with a great claw. But why should I ever take this. It's realy expensive for just a +1 strenght attack. 50 gold!!! Mighty Blow does the same for free Or am I missing something?

IIRC and they are following the logic of WHFB of the same era as the game was first released it also rises the Attribute Cap as they are no longer a Beastman but now a Mutant Beastman.

It's also another way of increasing your beastman's strenght. With the mighty blow skill (if he can get it) and that claw, he should be hitting with a strenght of at least 6 without a double handed weapon. Which means he desnt strike last as well. Not bad I would say.

Then again, he could just take a two-handed weapon and the Strongman-skill, hit with S6 and not strike last. Cheaper than two advances and 50gc Smile

I think the high cost of the claw balances out that the fact that they already very strong and powerful in the first place. And again, what if he can't get a strenght skill? Maybe it was a henchman turning into a hero and didn't chose a strenght skill as one of his new skills?

And a double handed weapon takes the use of both hands... Giving only one attack... A great claw allows for the use of an additional weapon or shield while still allowing the strength bonus....

You can stack mighty blow on top of a great claw and people soon begin to fear the craw.
