| Hi, so here's my kind of hobby thread. It should be motivation for me, inspiration for you. I hope you enjoy my painted models. Because I have painted several miniatures in the last few weeks, now I have a lot of photos. As soon I paint more, you get more pictures. So let's start! These are my three warhounds. The models are from "The Hobbit" / Citadel. They are really great. Because they were the first models painted, they aren't that great, but I think they are okay to play with! At the moment I'm using two of them in our actual campagn you can read about in the "Battle reports" forum! Next picture is a WIP gor. He has the first layers on and was washed. In my campagn he represents the gor "Thoros" Here's a picture of my Centigor Angarak. I didn't paint it, I got it that way. Next thing to do is give him a gor head and repaint him. The next pictures show three gors. The outer ones are used as gors in our campagn, the left being Gor-Natak, the right being Murgos. In the middle you can see the shaman Soltar, I'm actually playing with. But I'm working on another, so I'm not really sure, if he gets paint at all! | |

| Next picture shows the next two gors I'm about to paint. They are pretty new in my warband, left being Krondor, right being Malgor: So here's a picture of three of my heroes. On the left there is my bestigor Vargo, in the middle my chieftain Kal-Torak and right is my other bestigor Drog-Tarr. The Chieftain lacks of layers on his skin but the rest is finished (in my opionion ;-)). The layers on the red parts really came out great. On the bestigors the read isn't that great, to I thought about repainting the "clothes". And here's the last picture of my beastmen-warband. My soon-to-be Shaman. But it's a lot of work to do. Especially because I never worked with GS (except filling gaps), never pinned something and never really worked with metal miniatures. And all of these skills are needed for this model.... =( So if you have any further tips, I would be glad to hear about. If I'm able to technically improve something, I will! | |

| And here are some more pictures of my future warband: Dwarf treasure hunters. Not really much to see yet, but perhaps you would like to have a look, though! Unfortunately they haven't got any names yet. That's very important for me and it's gonna be some more days or weeks until I'm sure how to name them. I really am not sure, with which colors to paint them, either. If you have any tips, feel free to let me know! First picture shows two of my female dwarfs and a halfling scout. Left would be a slayer, in the middle a clanswoman. Halfling by reaper, Slayer by hasslefree, clanswoman by hasslefree/red box games: Next pictures shows a clansmen and a thunderer. Though I'm not sure yet, if he's going to become my engineer. Both by hasslefree/red box games: The next picture shows another two clansmen. Also hasslefree/red box. And the last photos are of my WIP dwarf bases. Because red box dwarfs really are kind of small (you can see some comparison photos in my other thread, page 2) the get some higher bases. So they can be seen and it's not unfair for bigger warbands. And because they all get ranged weapons, I'm going to see more enemies, too ;-) For comparison there are another two bases I use for my beastmen made of milliput and sand. The result you can see in the other pictures above. I think, they look okay for my first attempt using milliput! So thanks for watching and stay tuned for more pics! Best regards, Seikilos | |

| Man, just going to blush, the more I'm reading here!
On the pictures you can really see more details, where the painting was bad. But as I can see them too, I tried to correct them now!
Today I base painted my last two gors (started yesterday, but the glue broke and I had to fix the model new) and washed them. Going to finish them in the next days.
I worked a little on the base of my new shaman.
And then (due my girlfriend bought some new glue today ;-) ) I assembled my dwarfs and pinned them on their bases.
I hope my other dwarfs come end of this week. There was a problem with the shipping from the UK, but I think they're here in a few days. Looking forward to this, but I try to finish my Beastmen first. Some work to do on the centigor....!

| So today a package arrived containing the rest of my dwarf-warband. They are all by Red box games. Here are (a lof of) pictures: The five thunderers: Here are miniatures I wanted to use as Clanswoman, Noble and Slayer: | |

| BUT: Here are some pictures to compare the miniatures. As you can see, red box dwarfs are really, really tiny: You can see from left to right: Hasslefree, Red box games, Citadel, HF, RBG As you can see, I'm not sure if chosing the small model for being a noble...? Here an overview of the complete warband. Left the thunderers, in the middle the heroes, right the clansmen (and behind them there's a halfing scout): As you can see, they are great models. But I'm not sure how to move on. They don't really fit in size. And it's going to be a horror to paint them. What would you do? Move on with the band, paint them and play them? Or exchange some of the models? | |

| And the last for today: Only one gor left to paint. I think, this gor really came out great and I notice my improving skills on each new mini I'm painting. Also starting to repaint some of the details on the older gors ;-) Thanks for watching! | |

| That is quite a range of sizes. Making his range of minis incompatible with most all the current minis is certainly not going to help Red Box's sales...bummer, they're nice minis. On the bright side, your Beasty Boys look FANTASTIC. The combination of GREAT brushwork, basing & color selection has worked their wonders again. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| I really like your Beastmen, your painting skills are great! The dwarf models are nice but the size would put me off. They would be fun to paint, nice sculpts, but are literally dwarfed by everything else. | |

| I like the dwarf woman with the axe, surrounded by the much bigger clansmen; she looks like a little sister tagging along with the group. I agree that a different leader would be better, but I think you can use some of the smaller models.

| Unfortunately I haven't had any time for painting and modelling, but I'm gonna start right NOW! BUT: My friend markus gave me THIS as a birthday present, totally out of altruistic reasons ;-). He's the reiklander player and he totally wants me to play a minotaur as a large target =) | |

| As I can see now, the pictures ARE pretty dark, and not always good to see.
Im off for camping now, but I'm going to make some new photos soon. Only have to finish 3 models (one shaman, the bestigor and one warhound) and then I'm done with my warband.
Going to paint my "Beastmen-Hired-Swords" afterwards (witch, warlock and Cursed Hillman) and then I'm going to start with my dwarfs.
And my next project is already on my mind.... ;-)
