Hello fellow Mordheim fans,

This is an open invite to join in on an online Mordheim campaign that is about to start over at The Round Table of Bretonnia.

Campaign Thread

We use a program called Battle Chronicler, the dicelog website and emails to play prolonged (not live) games of Mordheim and we are starting a new campaign. This format is great for people who can't always commit to scheduling a specific time to playing a whole game (however, there is nothing stopping you from doing so).  We will be initially running games over a one week period (so you’ll have one week to complete each game) , however if necessary we will change this to over two weeks.

Here is a link to a battle report from an earlier campaign to help you get a feel for how the format works;

Battle Report

The campaign will be story driven and set between the outskirts of Mousilon and the Forest of Arden, using all the original Mordheim rules, Empire in Flames, Blazing Saddles, Chaos on the Streets and a few house rules.
The invite is open to all, even if you haven’t played Mordheim before, the rules are all free to download and we are happy to help you get started. Any warbands will be considered, all we ask is that you post your intended warband on the thread so the players can discuss.

Please feel free to ask any questions here or on the thread. See you there  Twisted Evil

I was never too keen on the whole playing a game online via emails or even web cams. Its the whole idea of cheating that got me. ("Gee, another natural 20? That's 6th time in 3 minutes. What are the odds?").

I would rather do a live game with someone and then post the results on a campain website. I understand with that online dice thingy would cut down one the cheating and everything but i wouldn't have the room for a gamming table to be on display, to do a non live, email to email game that could take days to week to finish.

Sounds like a cool idea. If you could combine the live games with posting the results a long with the other stuff, that would be cool.

There isn't really any scope for cheating in the way we play. We don't have gaming tables set up with Web cams or anything like that, it's all done with Battle Chronicler.  Battle Chronicler logs movement values and dicelog records all dice rolls so no cheating. Our emails tend to be just extra explanation of what happened in your turn, maybe a little fluff, who will intercept and things like that.

I'm playing in this campaign with Ash.  The opportunity to cheat is really minimal due to the two resources that we use. It's a good group of guys from what I can tell so far. Engagement is high and response rates are pretty fast. You can either arrange for a time to play your match over a few hours on skype, or just play by post over the course of the week.
