Bows, Quivers, Hammers and attaching Backup Weapons Empty
PostSubject: Bows, Quivers, Hammers and attaching Backup Weapons   Bows, Quivers, Hammers and attaching Backup Weapons Icon_minitimeThu 30 Jan 2014 - 11:03

Sort of a two-parter here. As I get into this Mordheim league, I find that I want to equip all of my heroes with secondary missile weapons. Most often this means giving the hero in question a bow slung over his back (though one lucky captain may soon have a blunderbuss in his future.

My problems are twofold:

A) I'm lacking bits to represent bows and quivers. I'm looking for bits retailers that would sell to North America. Ideal bits would be cased bows, as those have a little more surface area. Suggestions?

B) I like my Mordheim models to be as modular as possible. I magnetize most weapon arms, but bows are too thin for even my smallest magnets. I'm trying to attach them through the use of pins, but this is sloppy. Anyone have any suggestions for making back-slung weapons modular without making them clumsy or ugly?

C)Bonus question. Where can I find some hammer bits? I find myself listing a lot of blunt weapons, and far prefer the aesthetic of hammers to clubs or maces.

I recomend You quivers with atached bows. Some propositions You can find for example here: http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords=quiver&osCsid=b76edciqij78v0erml1g77ij84&x=0&y=0
The rest of bits like hammers can also be found there as well. Wink

Reaper has quite a variety of weapons packs. Individual sprues can also be ordered separately. Here's a link:

I haven't figure out why the search engine also included some minis with the weapons packs, but there are things man was not meant to know.   clown

Thanks guys. Picked up a bunch of cased brettonian longbows on ebay. Also picked up a few of the Khemri chariot bows. Still looking for hammers. I think I might just have to buy myself a quick mold kit and start making my own.

Using a toothpick and a small square piece of foam you can make simple & cheap hammers. Smile

I've magnetised my bows and spare weapons. sure it may be a very thin layer of actual weapon around the magnet, but it works (I've used 2mm round magnets) What I also like doing is sculpt a bit of a leather leash around weapons to make it look like they're hanging on belts or backpacks. This also gives you slightly more body to place the magnet in.
