| Well then, I've just bought myself a new smartphone, and when I saw it's box, my little grey cells started working . Side note : all pictures in this thread are taken with the phone that came in the box... I opened it, emptied it of all smartphone-related accessories and cut off one of the small sides of the inside box (the smaller one, the one that contains the actual smartphone) Inside that box was a black structure, with holes and whatnot to keep the phone and all of it's accessories in place. I cut that up too, removing one of the small sides and making a hole on the opposite side (the exit point for the dice) Then, with a bit of plasticard, I made an exit-ramp for the dice. Steep enough to ensure they'd be rolling away smoothly, supported on the inside by plasticard triangles and milliput to increase the sturdyness Now, on the inside of the black thingy that held everything in place there are a couple of square/rectangle bits which risk to keep the dice from falling through. So I used some milliput to turn thos corners into slopes, allowing the dice a safe passage Once that was done I glued the black structure upside down into the inside box with PVA glue and used some clothespins to keep everything in place during the drying process Next steps will be the top-ramp, where the dice will go into the tower. Once that is done, I'll have a technically fully functioning dice-tower. which you can fold up to the size of the original box. Of course, I'll have to test it thoroughly to see if the tower thoroughly shakes the dice. But the plan is not to stop there, I want to turn this thing into a piece of scenery. So I want to change the outside box into a wall (maybe with a door, mut not sure at the moment if it's a good idea to have a door sticking out). The inside box will need some structure too. I'm thinking wood, but I can't just put coffee stirrers on there, as they'd make it too thick and will stop it from fitting into the outside box. What do you guys think sofar? | |

| Keep going! It doesn't look like much yet. Good to see the phone solved the camera issue though. | |

| Yesh, it does look kind of crappy at the moment, doesn't it? No real updates today, as I (finally) went to see Man of Steel yesterday evening. But as the PVA had plenty of time to dry, I took a picture without the clothespins, and with the tower in place. As you can see, in the dice-reception area, there’s a nice patch of mousse (kind of like what GWS puts in their blisters) so the dice should land nice and smoothly Collapsed, the dice-tower is ready for transport, 5.5 inches long, and 3 inches wide My to-do-list remains unchanged : make dice-entering-ramp and pimping it up into a piece of terrain | |

| Made the ramp at the top through which the dice will be entering my tower, at the opposite side of the slope in the middle. So now the tower is fully functional, though it is still nothing much to look at. To be sure everything was fine, I ran (quite a lot) of test-runs... Sixes go in... And this is the result : For game-systems which require a larger dice-count, I tested with the standard GWS-dice With up to 10 dice, I never had a stacked dice as a result. More than ten dice, I had some stacks, from time to time. As from 15 and upwards the number of stacked dice became too much really, more than 50% of the rolls saw two (or more) dice on top of each-other. Onwards and forwards to the embellishment of the tower! | |

| Very creative use for that box. I like how it folds up. | |

| And I've started turning the tower into a piece of terrain. First off, the outside box, which received textured plasticard walls and a Confrontation door : Then, I found some really thin textured plasticard which I used on the inside box : The two parts together : Fortunately the plasticard was thin enough for the tower to still be foldable : Onwards and forwards to the primer-spraying-can! | |

| Not greys or something like that. In my eyes this is a bloody purple-blue with light pink detail (other dimension - chaos sited) | |

If you want one that looks like that, you'll have to make one yourself. Mine needs to blend in with the Porto Pulpo scenery This is what it looks like now : And in transporting-mode | |

| He, he. I figured you'd trot out the old 'gotta fit with the rest of my scenery' excuse. Nice work. Clever and utilitarian. | |

| Thanks for the nice comments! Further embellishments? Don't think so, I'm glad with it as is now. I'm afraid if I add any bitz, they'll just fall off because of the wear and tear (which this one will be more subject to than your average piece of scenery ) | |

| You're probably right about the embellishments; gaming terrain takes a lot of abuse. C'est la vie, eh?! | |
