| Has anyone watched the recent "300" sequal? Remember the part of the movie when all the bad guy's ships got smashed into each other and then the greeks ambushed the bad guys and faught them on the mangled up ships crashed together? How about something like that for a gaming table or at least a part of a gaming table the same way some players have a ship on their table. Maybe during the comet crash, some of the ships docked in the harbour got smashed together but didn't sink. Would fit in with Mordhiem. | |

| Would be a nice touch if they did sink but not completely and some enterprising Marienburgers constructed some sort of shantytown on the remains and the surrounding docks. | |

| How do you plan your game table and buildings? Do you prefer easy access, playability, possibilities to modify the table, or do you build up more like a diorama, where visual appearance is on more important role? I just find challenging to balance between smooth gaming terrain and visuality. I mean, like carving stairs, for example. If you use the correct scale, it´s too small for model bases, and vice versa. Or, just having houses without an access can be boring. Gaming table with elevations, ruins, ladders etc is more fun to play. I´m planning to start making a new ruined house, and this balancing issue troubles me. | |

| I guess it depends on your goals. For instance if you make a big diorama, playability is a non factor, so you can have stairs with the correct scale. A diorama also can go for a certain look and feel so that will definitely guide your process into what to show. Playability can be more challenging because of the scale issues. For instance while a river with a single log could work in a diorama, it wouldn't because a mini wouldn't stay balanced. Having a general direction before starting is always a good thing All these refs are awesome. If you guys have pinterest boards or tumblr feeds I'd love to follow them and build a library | |
