| Wo-oo-oow!! I was think "wow, that vamp looks good" and then I saw the dreg and I was like "whaaat!" *jaw drop*. I love the dreg! That face looks like he is alive *shudder* Awesome paint job! The zombies looks totally great, too. A beautiful warband thus far! I do look forward to what you do with your necromancer... Concerning additional Dreg models, it seems that most people on this forum simply convert them. I HAVE to recommend UnderBheit's Undead warband for inspiration. PS: I moved your thread for a starting warband here. | |

| Hey Gav!
Great warband!!! Very impressive. Thanks so much for sharing. Where is the vamp model from?
Once your warband is finished, please don't hesitate to give a mod (or myself) a sign, and the thread will be moved to the Gallery section where it can duly be honored. Oh and about the criticism you requested: it's very hard to find anything to criticise about your models! I would say you are an accomplished painted. Only little drawback are the pics. Some are a little bit small/blurry. If you feel like posting some close ups, this would be appreciated. But no rush. _________________

Thanks, didn't see that thread. Vamp model is from Reaper http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/14184As far as photography goes, I'm at a bit of a loss. I use a tripod, and I've tried shooting outside, inside, near a window, with three lamps, no background, white background, black background, grey background, and I always use macro and turn off the flash. The camera isn't high end, but it is quite new, and has 7mp. What am I doing wrong?

| COOL MINIS! Now I get to play the "Name The Mini Maker Game". I missed a point with the Reaper Vampire [nice mini that I don't recall seeing before], but I would guess that your Zombies are also Reaper minis, & you Necromancer is from the GW's Empire Wizard plastic boxed kit. Regardless of the maker, you did a slendid job bringing them to (un)life. WELL DONE! cianty posted a VERY useful photo tutorial article in [ SURPRISE! ] the Tutorial Section that should prove to be enlightening. | |

| DeafNala: Nice try, but not quite. The zombies are a mix of Heresy (great company) and Ral Partha. So far my warband has minis from four companies.
Cianty, thanks for the link to UnderBheit's thread. I'm now very very tempted to buy a corpse cart. I could even use the cart part to make a Chaos chariot for my WHFB army, and that Necromancer is perfect.

| You're welcome! And I'd like to say that your vampire looks about a thousand times better than the sample model at Reaper. Pah, Losers! | |

| OOPS! Now that you've identified the mini makers I remember where I'd seen them before [ LOVE these trips down Memory Lane ]. The Reaper minis I was thinking of are the Zombie types from the War Lord range; some REALLY COOL, VERY AtMOSPHERIC stuff there. If you haven't seen them, they're worth a browse. They also have some new Ghasts & Ghouls; I haven't seen these in the metal yet &, ergo, can only go by the photos, which, generally, do not do the minis justice. | |

| I've actually spent quite a bit of time in the last few days searching through their huge range for some miniatures suitable for Dregs, and yeah I noticed their ghouls and zombies as well. I think I spotted a blister of ghouls down at my LGS, so I'll pop down there tomorrow (well, later on today, it's 4am) and take a look.
What I'd really like to get my hands on though are some more Heresy miniatures, especially their Paul Muller ghouls. I already have the Ghoul King, but he's a little too big and impressive (read: ugly) to be a normal ghoul. Maybe if one of them gets Ladded...

| You can get Heresy minis on this side of the Pond at www.fantization.com . AND they DO make some Ubercool stuff; I LOVE the Van Halfling mini! I'm doing some Web surfing looking for Vampires & such for a Vampire/Empire commission. I'll keep you posted on anything cool I find....Have you see Masquerade's new Bat Swarm? [ www.coolminiornot.com ]. | |

| You & I are definitely on the same page mini-wise [you have my condolences ]. I have the Wyrd Grave Digger & a few more of that type; VERY NICE MINI! The Undertaker with the Vulture is UNBELEIVEABLY COOL [I have that one also ]. I would KILL to get the Vampire Dog Boys; lack of credit cards is SUCH a DRAG, man! Masquerade DOES make some GREAT stuff. Dark Age makes some very disturbing stuff for all us Brom fans. | |

| I'll try and get photos up of my Necro tomorrow. For now though, I'll just say that by combining the Empire Wizard and Crypt Ghoul kits, you can make pretty much the coolest Necromancer ever. I am seriously stoked on this conversion, and it wasn't even hard.
I'm also building a third dreg, using State Troop legs and a misc human torso, cut and glued to make him bent, along with a Marauder arm and a State Troop arm for that lopsided Quasimodo look, and lots of green stuff. This is the first time I've done any significant sculpting, so it should be interesting to see how it comes out.

| It DEFINITELY should be interesting! Check out UnderBheit's Undead to see ALL the COOL stuff you can do with the Corpse Cart. GW's plastic kits are Treasure Troves of great little pieces to mix & match into TOTALLY UNIQUE minis, AND they're quite a good value for the $s, rather out of character for the business types at GW [ SEE, there's some good in the worst of us ]. | |

You might use him as a "counts as" Ogre Hired Sword. I'm thinking about using the BIG Reaper Ghoul King that way.
