Great work Hrimfar, I love the inclusion of the female characters in your warband. We have too little women in Mordheim! The combination of different models and conversions makes for a unique looking warband. I love how much detail you've put into customizing your models.

My marienburger warband have pulled far ahead of the other warbands in the campaign, I'm at my 4th consecutive win and have a rating of about 200! with maxed out roster and 1 mercenary (elven ranger). I'm starting up another warband meanwhile, so that others have time to get closer to my position (the next highest rating is 130...)

I've decided to go with the possessed! Here's a WIP of one possessed mini and a mutant...

OH MY GOD, he's been possessed by the Chad Mitchell Trio...or not. That is a VERY COOL & ORIGINAL idea/model as is the Mutant. You have a real flair for conversion. GREAT & INSPIRING WORK!

Allright, I have some more WIPs of my new possessed warband. Started out on another possessed and the magister. I also have the second mutant on the way, but he's not got enough done on him to warrant a photo...

So...thoughts?

Although I'm not too keen on the polka dot pink for the Mutant Lad(?), he & his cohorts are FINE examples of conversion at its best. The Big Guy on the far right is my favorite in The Group. TERRIFIC WORK!

Yeah, I have to agree with you there Nala, the pink colour is not very nice, I'm going to add a lot more red/brown shading and some more purplish and green parts. Not really sure as to how, or what parts of the model though. I have very limited experience with chaotic models overall...

I've never really gotten into Chaos stuff myself either. However, I was over on C.M.o.N.. & spotted this Lovely. While there isn't really any resemblance to your piece, I thought you might draw some ideas/inspiration from the colors:

Allright! I got my hands on some more graystuff and had some experiments with sculptning cloaks, the result was so good I did another one (going to use them as darksouls). I also started out on my magister, which is going to be a floating, empty cloak, all in the true spirit of the lord of change. All hail Tzzentish, the bringer of change, the master of all magic, the beaked one and the only true god in this and all non euclidian dimensions!

The voluminous robes do add a certain alien aura to the Guys that fits with the Chaos mystique nicely. TERRIFIC WORK!

The cloaks have that billowing look to them that is oh-so-COOL. Nice work!

Allright, got some paint on them. I think I'm going to sculpt a mask the insert in my magisters empty hood. With the same bronze/copper finish.

How did you do that bronze-copper finish? Drybrushing with hawk turquise?

First off I paint the brass parts with ancient bronze or the equivalent, then I highlight with shining gold or ancient gold. After this step I mix upp turqouse with some green and water it down to a shade-like substance. I then go over the brass parts with this watery mixture and try to get some different nuances in there. After this has dried I apply a tiny bit of brass again on the raised surfaces.

Many steps, but It's really simple and I am satisfied with how it turned out.

Also - google bronze or copper to get some referencepictures for the colour of the patina.

So, last night I did some painting of bases and such and now I've got almost all the models I want to use ready for Dunday's gaming session. The giant cloaked figure in the middle is my magister and the possessed and mutants should be pretty easy to spot. I've gone for shortbows and clubs on my brethren, using them as mobile meatshields for my costly possessed units.





During startup I've been thinking about using this format:

Magister w. dagger - 70 gc (he will later get some other stuff)

Possessed (human tree) w. extra limb - 130 gc

Possessed (mouthier) w. giant claw (maw) - 140 gc

Mutant (eyeball) w. extra limb & 3 clubs - 74 gc

3 brethren w. clubs (for starters) - 84

Should ammount up at almost 500 gc!

The Group Portrait shows off the Cultists WONDERFULLY...the purple & pink work very well. TERRIFIC WORK!

I need 3 beastmen, don't really know if I'm going to use regular bestigor models or make something else up. For a short while I were contemplating using the darksouls as walking armors (much like the thousand sons) and proxy them as beastmen. I thought the toughness and 2 wounds were extremely fitting for this purpose. What do you think?

On another note, I'm going to start building a graveyard for my mordheim board. Going to make an elevated one and I've got the guarden of morr and renderas? tombstones that I'm going to use.
