| Allright. I have (finally) completed my marienburger warband and they are ready to kick some ass and earn some money! First two games came out as wins and I'm thinking about getting a Ogre bodyguard in the near future. The warband is lead by the Baroness, a noble from one of Marienburgs many merchanthouses. She was shut out of her family when the patriarch died a few years back and her despicable and lazy little brother got handed the title. After a botched coup detat the enigmatic Baroness fled with her bodyguard, a few loyal men at arms and her bodyservant. Now she has arrived at Mordheim with a warband, trying to gather funds for another attempt at her brothers life. (note that the Baroness is missing in the pictures, will update when I get a good one at her)

| Hey, that looks like a cool gang. Perhaps you could take some individual shots of the members to show off the details? And the elusive baroness of course needs her own showcase!

| Definitely want to see some more close-ups of these guys, and the baroness when you get a chance. I really like the fluff you have to go along with them! | |

| Allright! Let me introduce to you the Baroness Butchers, a small group of adventurers leading my warband into the fiery hell that is Mordheim. First off we have Mat, a former kitchenboy. Being cought evesdropping on The Baroness and her Captain he was forcefully brought along on the journey. He doesn't like it, but don't have much of a choice. Second we have Lucretia, a young merchants doughter from Tilea. She joined the band out of free will, to break free from marriage with a much older Marienburgian noble. She is learning fast, and have now accustumed herself to the use of advanced firearms such as the blunderbuss! Fritz used to be one of them regular rank and file merchant guards. He cought a lucky break slaughtering a dwarven engineer in front of the Baroness and was promoted to lead the rest of the swordsmen. He now goes by the name of Lycky Fritz. The Baroness old bodyguard stayed loyal and was key when she broke out of captivity and fled the city. Although, he still suffers from the grevious injuries of that day. Also in on the journey was Hildegard, the Baroness maid. Being from Ostland (or whatever it's called) ogre blood runs in her veins and she is not to be underestimated. Lastly we have the Baroness herself. From that faithful day when she escaped captivity she swore an oath to seek vengence on her brother and now always wear red to remind herself of the blood debt. She goes by the nickname The Red Baroness. | |

| Aah, that's better! My favourite is Hildegard, a very characterful mini well painted! The others are not trailing far behind - all in all very colourful (especially with nice background stories). | |

| Thanks everyone for all positive feedback!
In retrospect I might have chosen a different model for the Baroness, or chosen different colours. To be honest it's my least favourite model in the party. I'm thinking of adding an elven ranger, and ogre or a freelancer...

The baroness model is one of my favourite Freebooters - what's not to like about it? I used it as a pirate captain for my pirate lasses, and I'm very happy with that choice. If the colours are bothering you, why not repaint it (slightly)? Re: the adding hired sword. What do you want to accomplish with the hired sword? I've found that the most cost efficient ones are the Tilean marksman and the Warlock, but perhaps you're looking for a certain model to enhance to overall look of the warband?

| @Folketsfiende: Yeah, I won again this night and spent my earnings, buying my last 2 henchmen for the warband. I'm now maxed out at 15 models. My last henchmen are 2 crossbowmen in a new group. Starting out with BS 3 is not that great, but I'm hoping they'll get te +BS after a couple of fights.
As for hired swords, I've been thinking on bringing an Ogre bodyguard, elven ranger or Tilean marksman. I have the models for the first 2 ones, and the last one wouldn't be so hard converting up (want him to look Tilean now, don't I?). I've also considered the lancer, bringing some fast hard hitting and armoured aspect to the warband. I also think the last one would fit with the overall theme of my warband.

| All the paraphernalia looks GREAT. Clutter adds character to a mini...the fish shows his association with Mordheim. EXCELLENT WORK! | |

Thanks a lot! I'm havn't modeled much in this way before and I'm very happy with the results so far! What's with the fish by the way, is it in mordheims coat of arms or something? It feels really mordheimy thought. Probably have to do with the art in the rulebook, right? Anyways, had a nice idea for my Tilean marksman, here we go:

| Very nice gang, clean and stylish. I really like all the little accessories you have added, makes them feel like adventurers.
The fish theme is a random idiosyncracy of the Warhammer World. Something funny, cool and weird. Might be a British thing...

It's not very original, is it? Should be pretty clear he's a marksman, or at least he'll stand out to the other 2 guys armed with crossbows. What else could I do to make him stand out as a hero/hired sword?

What else could I do to make him stand out as a hero/hired sword? While the William Tell story might be common knowledge, you're the first Guy I know to do it miniature... SO it is rather original. Modeling-wise I can't think of anything that would make him distinctly a mercenary, but painting him up in a flashy manner & in different colors than the rest of your War Band would make him stand out. It would also give you a break from the pattern.

| I think with his dynamic pose, he should stand out, but you could also paint him in a different color scheme than the rest of the 'burgers to show he's a hired sword/crossbow. FINE work here. | |
