PD's Kurgan Marauders WIP

I decided to use the Kurgan tribe because I like the idea of having a bow in my equipment list, and I got my hands on some nice old Chaos Thugs from Battle Masters! I will never have more than 5 chaos hounds, but the negative modifier to item search rolls makes sense for these gruff barbarians. I like the idea of a whole warband of stoic Conan types.

Now I just need to pick a power, i've ran a Tzeentch warband before, but I'm also considering Slaneesh or undivided...

I know what you're thinking: the Seer's hands are wayyy too big! Well I love this old Hero-Quest figure and I think it is part of the charm of using older models.

You picked out some PRETTY COOL minis there, Dubs. I like the size of the Seer's hands: re, you got to figure he's wearing gauntlets of some sort; AND, if there are any negative comments, just tell them the hands are a gift of the gods. Have FUN with the painting!

I still need to get my hands of a steel whip bit (or make one) since I used the previous one I had of a Skaven. That reminds me, those Skaven WIP pics I posted a while ago are probably gone since my website no longer exists!

These guys are BIG by the way, the leader is 35mm to his eyeballs.

Those are awesome! Great ideas and great execution. Good choice of bitz, excellent bitzbashing and flavorful oldschool models. Hoping to add "excellent paint job" in a while

I'd suggest going Undivided, or Khorne. The other three options does not fit with the style of your marauders, in my oppinion.

Funny that I started thinking about putting together some rugged savages with marauder pieces. I was thinking middenheimers, but maybe I'll build them so they can be used as barbarians too. Wierd coincidens that I thought about the specific combo of chaos warrior legs and marauder torso. You're quite many steps ahead!

Where is the torso of the bowman from?

The bowman is a Battle Masters archer! I have a second assembled with the original, poorly detailed mow-hawk head. I did not invent this marauder style, I think i first saw it in the BTB rulebook actually.

I'm working on my Condemned, will post pics soon as it's finished.

Even as a non-Chaos type, I'd say that was a VERY COOL conversion...fits in nicely with the rest of The Band. GREAT WORK!
