Giant cave squig ? Tutorials, help ?

I'm currenly looking to create a night glins warband.

I chose to use the warband listing that have the giant cave squig but There are none available anywhere except the one on forgeworld (overpriced and way too big)...

I'm no modeler but I want to give it a trry with a ping pong ball as a base, plastic dinosaur legs and teeth...
but I'd like to see if anyone has made one ... or if you could share advices on how to do it ?

That Forgeworld one isn't a Giant Cave Squig!

Ohhh... its not as big as I tought... its much smaller.. A ping pong ball will be way too huge as a base !

It should fit on a 40mm base. I've seen some really good ones made from Cold Ones with Giant heads and from Steggadon heads.

Hmm.. I have a few cold one riders that are getting dust in my ''bitbox'' ... I sould check that...

However, as we all know, those ''pieces'' are expensive compared to plastic dinosaur legs from china... maybe I should give a try with something very cheap (beta version) before getting to the serious stuff..

It will be my first attemps to sculpt so .... my confidence level is ... well... rather low...

... I also tought about buying little plastic piggies, paint them in red to do some ''squipigs'' .. and then use a bigger one as the giant squig...

The idea is really ridiculous... I know ... Just imagine jumping agressive piggies and you'll understand....

However .. this would be fun to try to create the most havoc as possible with those ... Funny game for sure !

After all .. isnt the general idea of Orc & Gobbos armies to be more ''funny'' than all others ?

(Just think about those skull diver catapults, the fasta vehicule because they're red in 40k or the Great gargan from epic).

Dood miniatures : I'm a big fan of garden dwarves since I'm 20... Its my totem ... seeing some zomboe garden dwarves makes me ... well... totally in awe !!! LOL

And that big squig... I really like it !! But I doubt I'll be able to be as good to sculpt one !

I'd be honored to use your work for my future warband ... but it require so much time to do this that I'd feel guilty to ''rob'' you of your work!!

Beside, If I never try... I'll never learn... I just hope my first ''disasters'' wont kill the my motivation ! (Yeah ... when I'm not good with something very quickly I have tendency to just put aside ... a curse from photographic memory I guess... I never had to ''work'', very hard at school and as an adult I have troubles with working hard for what I want)...

I tend to agree with the ASTOUNDING myself. Fabio, you create WONDERFULLY IMAGINATIVE pieces that only you find fault with; never being satisfied with your own work is why you keep getting better. SO we'll just keep telling you they're all GREAT,; & you can deny it & get even GREATER.

On the subject of big squigs, are there rules for using them in Mordheim games?
