Hello from Indianapolis. New to Mordheim

Hello, new guy here and looking to start playing Mordheim. I have been collecting and playing miniature games for quite some time now. I think I own just about every miniature game made, LOL

I got the Mordheim box set on a BGG trade several years ago. It's complete and basically New, still on the sprues and unpunched. I have been debating if I should use the miniatures from it or just keep it untouched as I also have the box sets for Necromunda, Gorkamorka, Man'o'war, Space Hulk, Warhammer Quest, etc.

I have a good amount of Orcs & Goblins, Dwarf models that I could put together a warband . I have also been looking at the different warbands on GW's website. I like the looks of the Sisters of Sigmar & the Witch Hunters. I'm not really sure where I should start. If any of you have suggestions as to what a good starting warband would be for a newbie that would be great.

I have never played Mordheim, but I have played Necromunda a few times. I shop at The Game Preserve in Greenwood Indiana and have seen on their board that there is a long time running Mordheim game on Thursday nights and was thinking about stoping in one night to see if they have room for a new player.

Our own Von Kurst & playtable are from Indianapolis also; AND they have a regular weekly Mordheim gaming group. I'm sure V.K. will check in sometime soonish here.

Welcome to the forum! If you are interested in starting the game stop on by. We are starting a new campaign tonight at around 6 pm. If you can make it earlier people start showing up around 4:30 to play boardgames and lie to each other about how good their warbands are. We may or may not have a couple of other new players for this cycle.

Thats some luck to have good group to introduce you right off the bat!

On your question of WB's to test out your teeth on; Mercs are a great place to start as they are vary forgiving of mistakes and also have easy rules to follow.

But if your liking the Witch Hunters you can convert those standard Mercs over to them with ease and not much extra minis.

Had a great time playing my first game. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed playing the Skaven warband, Warpfire "Yes Please"

I ordered a box of night runners last night. Cant wait to get my warband together and play next Thursday.
