How do you deal with a stroke of bad luck and bad games?

Hello, im new here. I have been playing mordheim for quite a few years, with long breaks between campaigns.
I got here trough Ezekiel, whom im playing a campaign with now.

But now to the topic, i started a dwarf warband because i found some nice models from Scibor miniatures, sadly the games have been quite boring (at least for my warband).

First 2 games were 3 man games that ended before i could make any casualty, first game the other 2 warbands killed eachother and left before i arrived
2nd was monster hunt where the monster was killed before i arrived
The 3rd game i got 1 ogre OOA and they routed
Game 4 and 5 where me getting bashed horribly, not much luck in those games, but i also was quite outnumbered.
On top of it all i managed to roll a LD upgrade for 2 of my heroes and a henchmen group and another henchmen group got initiative.

Yugh, well my reaction in the end was to quit the warband, probably not the best reaction, but then again im not really an amazing loser

Best bet is to tell everyone that you're only into the painting.

haha, dude, you just have to mindf*** everyone in to thinking you've got some amazing weaponry picked out for the next round, and make them fear you more, so you can just hunt for the treasure

As to your luck with the dwarves. It sounds like your M3 is holding you back and robbing your of much needed extra experience. My suggestion would be to get extra crossbows.
Its much easier for your slayers to run people up if they lay in the mud with a few bolts in their head.

I did have some great weaponry, it didnt help

And yes i shouldve gotten some more crossbows, but foolish me bought some models armed with handguns ( they just look much cooler ).

Ill restart my dwarves at some point, to see if i can get a better start. Perhaps some cheap beardlings will help to set off some of the disadvantages.

For now ill grab some other models to form a warband, something with Movement 4 perhaps
