| Hey all, Firstly, thanks - If it wasn't for this forum, my painting skills would still be rather horrid (with age comes wisdom, and the ability to see that I'm not Michelangelo) . I frequently lurk, rarely post and gain a whole lot of inspiration from you all So, thank you Which leads me to the point of all this: How do I strip paint off minis (mainly Dwarfs) that have been previously very badly painted years ago? I've searched the web, found simple green, but after about 10 cadians, it seems to have lost its stuff. I was wondering if there's a particular type of simple green to use, or if there's a better alternative to use? Regards, No-Beard |

| You can get Dettol in Australia, right? If so, I'd suggest experimenting with that. I put a tutorial on using it - for metal figures, but the principle's the same for plastic - on the FoD here | |

| Simple Green or any ammonia based glass cleaner works well for removing paint...just soak & scrub with a stiff toothbrush. | |

| @ Citizen Sade: Yep, sure can and will probably give that a go this weekend @ Deaf: I've tried that I stuck in 10 plastic cadian guardsmen to test the simple green and it worked fine. I stick in a bunch of dwarfs and the paint won't scrub off and they're not even varnished. I think they've been in there for over a month and the paint -still- won't budge |

| if the models are dipped I have experienced that even t-röd (that normally takes away everything but doesn't damage the plastic) take time to make clean and green soap doesn't work at all | |

| Well, from about a week's worth of testing, the dettol does actually work quite well! Just need to use a paper towel to wipe off most of the gunk and it makes painted plastic good as new! |
