Warplock pistols in hand-to-hand

Have the Warplock pistol of skavens the rule hand to hand? in the description of skavens warband no apear it, seem only to shot, no for close combat. But is so strange... is a pistol... isn´t it?

I hope you can help me, I asked in the general post of dudes but i see here is better.

Benkei, player of my campaign (Hola benkei...) ask me this question.

I always figured it to act as a pistol in all aspects (Veskit uses his warplocks in close combat) with the only exceptions being str and range.

We are asking because both the Pistol and Duelling Pistol have the "Hand to Hand" rule, allowing for them to be used in CC, but the Warplock Pistol (and actually, the Crossbow Pistol, as it has a different rule altogether) doesn't, so there is nothing allowing you to use it in CC.

Veskit is a DP, who often break rules, and he is not using exactly Warplock pistols, he is using modified Eshin Claws with special rules. Actually, if you read the rules, he fights with 5 Str 5 attacks every turn, whereas if he were using the Pistol's "Hand to Hand" rule he would have 2 Str 5 attacks on the first round and then 5 Str 4 attacks every turn thereafter.

Very good points gentlemen. I think we always assumed that the warplock could be used in hand to hand. Our discussions were mainly about whether the warplock counted as 'black powder' weapons or not. (I'm fairly sure there's an errata or FAQ on the subject.)

Using them in hand to hand has never seemed broken or overpowered, so we will probably continue to do so. Unless the whining about not being 'black powder' gets annoying...

well, id even argue that they are valid for the "superior black-powder" upgrade being pistols and all.

And for the record i dont play skaven (yet )

Oh we allow that since the group opinion has been that they are a black powder weapon. Its just that certain personalities who have played skaven in the past have not wanted any of the disadvantages of black powder, just the advantages.
