[Ostlanders] Double barrelled guns and hand to hand

is the double-barrelled guns bonus (1hit=2hits) useable in hand to hand?

Interesting question. After browsing the rules i say yes, as the rules clearly state that:
"A double-barrelled gun (of any sort) is treated exactly like a normal version with one exception. Any enemy is hit by two blasts rather than one (i.e. a pistol causes two S4 hits rather than one for each successful hit)."

While on the subject, can non-Ostlanders buy these guns too? And if so, is it necessary to take the 'weapons expert' skill to use them? Or can you use them if you can use normal pistols?

I say weapons expert is necessary. Double barrel versions are entirely new and different weapons, not listed in any equipment list except the Ostlander's ones, so...

(Much like you need weapons expert to use duelling pistols even if you got regular pistols in the equip list)
